Best Cheese Enchiladas and Guacamole I've ever had. I am vegetarian and I live in NC and have never tasted so good flavors. Everything down here is American. I will long for these flavors for the rest of my life. It's been a week since I was here and I can still taste it. Really good, I highly recommend it.
Food was okay but.. for the price it wasn’t really worth it. Anything with beans please avoid, you will taste a lot of salt. The service was straight up garbage. You need to order 2 drinks ahead or else you will be thirsty for a while.
The restaurant is decent but not great. I ordered the combo of Chile Relleno and Chicken Enchilada. The Spicy Jalapeño Margarita was just okay, nothing too special. The service was poor. Overall, it's still a good place to dine at.

Many older reviews of El Tio mention that they do not provide itemized bills and automatically include a gratuity fee. These practices have raised some concerns among customers.
The food is excellent and the service was decent as well. However, be aware that if you don't pay with cash, they impose an extra charge.
Love this spot. It holds cherishable memories of growing up and going there with my folks. The food is pretty friggin delicious!
