average modern italian place at a glance but the service was appalling and the food is not authentic italian. arancini did not come with tomato sauce and came as very small little balls; best word to describe would be lackluster and definitely not worth the price. crudo was ok but the quality of raw fish again does not justify the stingy thin slices and portion size. the server mispronounced paccheri quite smugly after i pronounced it correctly in ordering it. by the way, the paccheri has absolutely zero flavor other than chili flake spice and residual lobster flavor. my main issue was that spices such as chili flakes were not listed on the menu. traditional dishes such as bolognese were ine...
Not sure why, but I wasn't expecting this place to be as good as it was. When we booked, there was an option to take part in a seasonal wine dinner which sounded nice but we have a toddler so I called them and asked if that was Ok and the person on the phone seemed flabbergasted that it wouldn't be. I liked that a lot. The chef came out and presented us with an unlisted starter which was delicious, and then whenever I saw him in the kitchen, he was instructing his staff in minor ways with, from a distance, seemed so delightfully professorial. SALT! The crudo was a salt bomb (crudo should have little salt) [they took the crudo off the bill it was so bad]. Cauliflower salad was drowned in lemon juice. Couldn't taste the octopus in the gnocchi with octopus (although, the gnocchi itself was well made); too salty. Ragu was fine, if very heavy and salty. Crostata was another salt bomb. Not only was salt one of the dominant flavors, but the oversalted pastry sucked up all the juices so was soggy.
Our table had the orecchiette, paccheri, chicken under the brick, branzino, cioppino and asparagus. for dessert we had the tiramasu, crostata and panna cotta. the server was a little slow between our entree and desserts and getting our check. We enjoyed the food

Best part was pre dinner cocktail at the bar. Patrick, the bartender was great. All downhill from there. Restaurant was overbooked. Really loud. Surly waiter. Decent food. Weird wine list. Been dining at Bar Mezzana for years. Not sure I will return
As one of our favorite restaurants, Bar Mezzana is always a fun, delicious experience...Our server, Tova, was friendly, knowledgeable and had a sense of humor helping us to make our food and beverage decisions...looking forward to our next visit!
Everything about this place from the moment you walk in is more than five stars with the family atmosphere how friendly it is not to mention the Food!!! OMG. truly a memorable experience! Can’t thank you enough Heather you’re the best?
The food was excellent. Entrees were excellent. Apps were excellent but other than the octopus, they were very small portions. Service was excellent. Charging $3 for bread was unnecessary.

Bar Mezzana is a wonderful restaurant with great food, drinks/wine and service. They have a fantastic team and this is one of my go to favorites. A good spot for groups and solo dining.
