I am visiting Boston this week and staying in the area in Brookline. Today I passed Michael's Deli and it caught my eye. Then I saw that Anthony Bourdain had been there and since I am a huge fan of him and his books and shows, I went in. The gentleman whom I believe is the owner (He must be Steven I believe from reading up on their website), was very welcoming and I really liked his quirkiness and unique energy. I ordered a half size New York corned beef and it was delicious!!! I will be going back to Michael's deli tomorrow and the day after. So simple, yet so tasty and memorable flavours.

Today marked my fifth visit to this spot, and while I typically stick to my go-to Reuben, I ventured out and tried something new – the Juban, a delightful twist on the Cuban, featuring pastrami. Freshness oozed from every bite. I devoured the entire sandwich. The staff exudes friendliness, and the ambiance is spotless. Cash is king, but fear not, they accept Venmo. It's become my go-to deli, where I always feel like family – welcomed and secure.
This is a genuine NYC-style deli located in the heart of Coolidge Corner! I discovered this place by chance and later noticed all the recommendations, including one from Anthony Bourdain. The service is exceptionally friendly and quick. It has a typical deli vibe, so don't expect a fancy atmosphere, but it's perfect for a tasty, quick meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my pastrami sandwich, although it was a bit on the expensive side for a deli. That said, I'm definitely planning to return to try their other sandwiches and bagels.
I was really disappointed. I treated myself to a hot pastrami sandwich with mustard and cheese on rye for $16, and I asked for it to be toasted. However, it arrived soggy and clearly not toasted; it seems like it might have been microwaved just to melt the cheese. I won’t be returning.

Michael’s Deli rules. I want deli? I go to Michael’s. Been here a bunch of times, brought others and they loved it too. There are no wrong choices on this menu. Michael’s Deli… that’s where I go. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Probably not possible to have a better corned beef sandwich anywhere in the world.
