The two metrics that I believe every restaurant should be gauged on: How does the value compare to the price? Price aside, how good is the food? Michael 's on the Hill is underpriced. The quality speaks to the level of Michelin 2 star, but the pricingis well below typical Michelin fare. The food itself, independent of price was fresh, creative, and delicious. I've wanted to dine at this restaurant for years while visiting family in Vermont, and I finally made it there on this trip! The ambiance is stunning; it truly has a great vibe with a lovely waiting area, a beautiful enclosed veranda boasting amazing views, and several other cozy rooms. We ordered Mojitos to drink, which were delicious, and shared the gnocchi and steak. This restaurant genuinely deserves at least 1 Michelin star. It significantly exceeded expectations: food was well balanced, tasted wonderful, contained just the right moisture content, and was the ideal temperature throughout. It's the best chicken Irecall ever having tasted. And it's not just the food that wows: the building, the ambiance, the location they're all justso on point. Not to mention the service, which was downright exceptional. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would, andthat's the first time I've said this.
The food was really disappointing. The lobster lacked flavor, the risotto was soggy, the panzanella salad was incredibly underwhelming, the lamb was just average, and the gnocchi was overcooked. They were gracious enough to replace the inedible lobster with risotto for the gnocchi, but overall, the food just didn’t meet expectations. On a positive note, the staff was very friendly.

I was expecting to try this restaurant on my Vermont trip and I was disappointed. I arrived as a walk-in at 8.25 (closing time 9PM) and they did not accept people in! While I understand that the time was strict, not allowing people in 35min before the closure is unrealistic (and rude mostly) if the place is defined a restaurant!
Vert nice meal for very special of occasions. We visited a few weeks ago, to celebrate a college graduation in Vermont. Food was delicious, service was steady and friendly. We enjoyed a great meal and memories here.
The service with Heather was impeccable, the drinks were delicious, and the food was fabulous. New ownership, same awesome destination. We will be back again and again.

I went for a work dinner. I ordered the prime rib and bubbly. The food service and atmosphere were amazing.
The service was extremely attentive, and both the drinks and food were wonderful.
