I have been going to this restaurant for many decades and used to spend a couple of thousands of Swiss franks per year, taking any opportunity to take friends, business associates, family and visitors. The food is very good and the service was impeccable. Unfortunately this has changed recently. They have hired new staff who do not know frequent customers and are basically rude! I reserved a table for 4 tonight and when I arrived at the restaurant, a waitress I had not seen before invited me to sit on a table right in front of the door, literally 1 meter from the entrance! The outside temperature was close to freezing and I asked the waitress if she could sit us somewhere else as many tables were free. She told me she could sit me in another room in the basement if we don’t mind eating alone!!! If I wanted to eat alone, we was going to eat at home. I decided to leave and went next door to Oliveto, an excellent restaurant 3 minutes away. Not only they welcomed us warmly (there were far more people in the restaurant) they asked us where we prefer to sit (we had no reservation), and they brought us free bruschetta with fresh tomato and the waitress was warm and friendly. The food was excellent and at least as good as in Michelangelo. I had eaten in Oliveto in the past and found them great but I’m an old wolf and it’s hard to habits. I really regret I did not go more often to Oliveto! I think every customer who goes to Michelangelo has to try many other Italian restaurants within walking distance (less than 5 minutes) and compare. You’ll be surprised. As for me, I am not ready to go back to Michelangelo. I hope many other customers too and at least it will give them a hint to treat their customers better!
This restaurant does its job and does it well, really pleasant ambience and service. There is no wow factor on any level, it is steady and I imagine always the same, this is an achievement for them, I think the same of their food good sokid flavours with pasya cooked perfectly etc but again not necessarily special. They have a machine and it works.
We made our reservation Tuesday for dinner We all enjoyed the food ladies ordered pizza myself and Dr yasin ordered very delicious seebass around 2 kg and we asked the waiter not to serve it at the plate becouse we enjoyed do it by our self We congratule the all how work in the resturent for there lovely servece
