Having never quite been convinced by the menu and decor to ever entertain an evening out at Missoula, it came as a welcome surprise how wonderful the new occupier of the premises is proving to be. The bustling Friday trade did not slow the service...and we received a mouthwatering array of small plates and a sharing platter more than ample for our group of three. I highly recommend the small plates the selection of five provides a lip smacking variety of dishes ranging from cauliflower wings (delightful) to arancini balls and burnt beef ends. I made a reservation for a family gathering just minutes before arriving at the restaurant. It was a great location right next to the river. The staff was friendly and attentive. The calamari starter was fresh and delicious, as were the king prawns. The chicken skewers were nice but a little bland, and were a bit pricey considering they were just a few pieces of chicken, onion, and peppers on a skewer with a side salad. The onion rings were also a bit expensive. The steak pie and vegetables were very tasty, and the mac and cheese was a hit with the kids. Overall, the food was of decent quality and fresh, but it may have been a little expensive.
Just don't understand the poor reviews I have just read. Had I read trip advisor perhaps we would have give this place a miss. We went last night..greeted by a very helpful member of staff..seated at a table with a great view of people crossing...the bridge. Our hanging chicken skewers with plenty of garlic oil were excellent. Chips were pipping hot and tasty. At each I would say they were certainly value for money. The lamb shanks ordered at the next table looked great and were devoured with relish. Only wish we were still in York to order another meal there tonight.
From the outside and as you enter this looks like a nice place , unfortunately it goes downhill from there .it is very open and as a result the noise is horrendous , we cold barely hold a conversation across the table .The food is...instantly forgettable I'm not sure if the steak and ale pie was frozen but that and the chips were aweful .certainly wouldn't go back .

Had lunch with a group of friends and we were lucky to have a sunny warm day, sitting out on the terrace, enjoying the river views. Food was very good and Sarah our server was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for her. A very...good experience on our visit to York.
Visited on a couple of occations the atmosphere is brilliant. Try and visit when group are playing the best group ive seen in a long time. Deos get very busy later on in the evening but well worth a visit.
