We were first to arrive at this restaurant one Saturday night. But, despite being the only people there, it was almost impossible to get attention from the staff who were busy chatting to each other at the till. In fact I had to get up to ask for a menu! After that I had to wave frantically to attract their attention to order drinks and food - and that was when it was empty. It quickly filled up and they appeared to be quite overwhelmed by the number of people. Again, it was a matter of waving at them to get any attention. We ordered a second glass of wine that didn't arrive for 20 minutes until we reminded them again. So, out of 10 for service...maybe 1. But, the food was pretty nice. Not a...
Have been a regular to Momokko since it opened - At least twice a month. Food is always fantastic, light and fresh. It is now nearly completely full on a Friday and Saturday night, so a booking is a must!! Food is reasonably priced and BYO! As of late it seems they do not have enough waiters/waitresses on. Poor Ming runs around trying to serve everyone and (she always does so in a calm manner with a smile and helpful attitude) but 1 waiter is not enough to provide quick customer service (filling up water, taking orders, providing wine glasses, delivering meals etc). Please put more staff on to assist her. Otherwise fantastic local restaurant.
Read the reviews on TA and thought "why not?". Made last minute booking for birthday dinner, and happily accommodated. Place was reasonably busy for a Monday evening, which meant slight delay with taking of orders. That aside, the food was delicious, well-priced, and exactly the sort of establishment Belrose, FF and Davidson has been waiting for. Overall, we were very happy with the experience, and will definitely be back again.
I have been on two occasions now, both lunch and dinner and have been nothing but happy with everything except perhaps just yesterday, when it was very hot, a bit of ice in the water would have been good.Service is always pleasant and whilst the menu choices are small the food always looks good and tastes fantastic. It is BYO at the moment. They have a takeaway outlet inside the centre as well.

I am not an expert on Japenese cuisine but we all enjoyed our dinner. The aubergine starter was yummy.. The staff were friendly and helpful. We even asked for desserts as they were closing and they were happy to serve us. Belrose shopping centre has been nicely updated. We sat outside and the heaters were impressive.
We went for a Saturday night dinner, a bunch of ladies. We shared entrees: octopus balls, sushi roll and vegetable tempura.For the main we shared Miso cream salmon (fantastic), Wagyu beef (mouth watering) and more shushi.The service was great and we will be back again!
Since opening we have become regulars at Momokko. Consistently good food, good service and good value. What else can you ask for at a local neighbourhood restaurant. Well done. Keep it up!!!
Menu had a great selection of culinary morsels to tempt the taste buds, service was excellent and friendly attentive staff. Great local location as part of the Glenrose shopping centre.

The service is good, delicious food! Big helpings. But I think it would be better if they also offer cheaper dishes, Noodles and bento boxes. That way they can get more people.
Very good Japanes food in an area with lots of atmosphere. Pleasant staff and fast service if you are heading off to Glen St Theatre.
