We have lived in St Ives for four years and had never tried this restaurant though we love our Italian food so decided to give it a go last night. First impression was good: a classic, old fashioned look with proper white tablecloth and warm feel. The clientele was mainly over 60 so I felt a bit out of place with my two young boys but there was a decent kids menu and the staff was pleasant to them.The menu (note: no pizzas) was extensive enough and promising with a nice range of specials.However we were generally quite disappointed : our mushroom starter was pretty flavourless and ordinary. Celebrated a birthday dinner here with family. This restaurant has been a local favourite for many years. White tablecloths give the impression of elegance and fine dining. The carpet near my table was extremely sticky so much so that my shoes were sticking as I tried to walk. The restaurant could do with a spruce up and some comfortable chairs. Having said that the food was delicious. We ordered the whitebait as an entree from the specials board and it was very tasty (it came as a fritter rather than just individual pieces) and was shared by two. We have dined here a number of times over the years, this was a birthday celebration, we ordered the two specials, a fish dish and veal mare, the welcome was great, order taking efficient and smooth, and food delivered in really fast time. Each dish was fresh, flavoursome and really excellent, must be a new chef...then we became invisible, ...struggle to get water bottle replaced, the plates cleared and to order desert, ...signalling the waitress or owner as they walked by resulted in that...did not see you, but they must have situation, the home made Tiramisu was to die for..to get the check and to pay required walking to the counter, being ignored for 3 minutes...we normally always tip, bu...
This has become a weekly staple for us and our two children. And when we have visitors over, it's the perfect place to go for a perfect home cooked meal without breaking them bank. Seriously,, I just went there tonight, 3 January, public holiday, 4 adults, 14 year old, 8, 6 and 4 year old , with entrees and mains, and walked out with a $280 bill! You can't cook for that many people and get away with less! It is always refreshing to see the new specials, but regardless, the menu will always be the go to place for the meal you know you love and enjoy. Hats off to Chris and his chef, for making this an enjoyable home away from home.

We've been to Bellini's many many times over the past 10 years and it's always the same. It's home cooking - nothing more nothing less. As many people comment the pasta and meat dishes are drowned in tasteless thin sauces. The problem with this, other than it doesn't add to the flavour, is that you always come away with spots of sauce on your shirt as it flicks everywhere. The best dish is the lasagna. Don't bother with deserts - they're always disappointing. Will we be back - yep - when I can't be bothered cooking next month.
The wife had a hankering for Italian on the way home last weekend and we noticed Bellini's when traveling through St Ives. We ordered the Zucchini flower and the Avocado Crab for entrees and the Veal Saltimbocca from the special board for main. There was plenty of variety on the menu and quite a few specials on the board. Prices were reasonable and the restaurant is BYO with a small corkage fee or you can buy wine and beer. Decor is a bit dated, although comfortable.
Went for dinner on new years eve. Was good food with a number of specials for the new year,good service (the waitress knew all the specials by heart) and nice wine also byo and it was all at a very good price highly recommend for anyone
This is a very busy but great family restaurant with lovely ambiance and superb food. Try the signature fish dish of Cupino. Gorgeous soft fish with mussels & prawns in a very beautiful smooth sauce

Extremely poor quality food delivered by disinterested staff. Unpleasant experience, won't be going back.
