This place has been on my radar for some time. The hotel is located in downtown and fortunately could be found right in front of the parking lot. The pizza was thin and they had a unique topping options that you will not find in a typical restaurant. I read the comments and a con is the cost. The prices are high for what you get, but the taste for them in my opinion. I'd get a beer at the prices they ask. In addition, Georgia's service was excellent and it had perfect timing when checking for us. The view of the place had a modern encounter of 80s/90s with the work of art.
Just great pizza. I came across a story about the owner who fixed the parking problem on his own and paid some tickets for people who allowed me to support a business like this. It was worth the 2 hours drive to get there. The interior and outside of the plant are well kept. You have a nice area to eat outdoors. The staff was great. You have a bar where you can sit and get drinks. I just tried a pizza, a little boy was delicious. I'm so glad I found the video and decided to go. I'll definitely be back when I'm back in Detroit.
Underestimate You're not just this place as a pizza joint. First, the pizza speaks for itself with delicious, crispy airy crusts and unique topping combinations. The turn comes with the bar offer. I am personally a bourbon drinker and was surprised that they had over 30 brands in stock, but also the quality selection for other cocktails focuses on this place. I'm a bit of a food and drink type and bartender John was very well informed about his craft. The place has a great mood to start or finish the night!
Delicious, unique pizza here. We have the Garlic Knots to begin gently, crunchy outside, all the garlic you could dream. Then we had: the Bee Sting (NYC pizza sauce, pepperoni, fresh mootzarella, fresh basil, hot honey) the Julia (Mootzarella, Prosciutto, fig jam, balsamico glaze, green onions, pecorino, shaved parmesan) The crust had the perfect crunch and all flavors were very balanced. All ingredients were fresh and of great quality. The staff was also very friendly and helpful!
Downtown to pickup our Detroit Free Press Marathon bibs so we reserved a table on Open Table at Mootz. So glad we did! It was 4:30 and Mootz was busy but we were immediately seated. The waitress introduced herself and provided excellent service. The restaurant appeared well staffed. We all ordered pasta and no one was disappointed. Everyone but me finished their's except me but I really enjoyed the cheese bread before the entree arrived. I plan to return.
Had dinner and a drink in Mootz last night, and although it was SUPER busy by several concerts in Detroit we had a great time. We had the meatballs, Caprese Salat (not shown), Margherita Pizza and a few beers that were all quite good. But the service was unbelievable, even during a giant knirps, so hate the Lord who served us while he was super attentive and very polite. 10/10 would recommend and plan the return.
