The food was underwhelming. The balsamic dressing for the salad was excessively acidic, making the salad itself just average. I ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich with coleslaw, which was rather lackluster. The coleslaw lacked creaminess and leaned more toward vinegary. The chicken was served on soggy focaccia bread that failed to make an impression; a nicely toasted French or Italian bread would have been a much better choice. The chicken was overcooked, and the breading was subpar. Although the accompanying tomato sauce was decent, the dish was garnished with only two small slices of pickles, which felt sparse.
On the positive side, the onion soup was quite good—definitely the highlight...
I can understand why there are so many Moretti's in the area. My previous experiences with Chicago-style pizza have been hit or miss, but my lunch here, which included pizza and appetizers, was far more enjoyable. The onion rings are massive and incredibly tasty. The sauce and sausage on the Italian pizza had just the right amount of spice, adding an interesting twist. They didn’t have the beers I was interested in because they were out of the seasonal options, so I opted for the on-tap strawberry margarita. It’s quite large (around 18 oz.) but also sweeter than I usually like. The service was excellent and friendly. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for a gathering with friends or family.

Overall, M is a solid middle ground; very average. Make sure you go to their pick up section if you are ordering to go rather than walking through their main entrance. Tried their battered cod special on Friday. The order came with 3 and overall it was just okay, super average and the breading was soggy/not crunchy. Fish tasted decent as well. Maybe stick with their pizza but that has been greasy at times as well.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was equally impressive, creating a wonderful setting for the meal. I highly recommend trying their thin crust pizza, which was a standout dish. Overall, it was an outstanding experience!
Dining outside was fantastic! Inside, there was a strong smell of bleach, and the music was quite loud. However, sitting outdoors allowed us to converse easily and enjoy the pleasant weather. Our table was located near Dempster, but the traffic noise wasn't a problem at all. We'll definitely return to enjoy the outdoor seating again!

I visited the restaurant on Tuesday, and it was bustling with customers both inside and outside. Roseann went above and beyond to assist those who were waiting by cleaning the tables. It was a fantastic last day here in Chicago!
