It ain't about the atmosphere! I've been eating these since high school when there was one in Monterey Park. I've introduced them to 4 generations across 5 different states from 4 different locations in the San Gabriel Valley. It's the fried bean cheese burritos with their own sauce, which individually are nothing to brag about but combine them, and they are a multi-generational treasure. I tell people about them and, of course, no one understands. But put them together, and the light goes on. I've had them in Memphis, North Caroline, Virgina, Arizona, Fresno, Alhambra, West Covina, Huntington Beach, La Puente CA and Denton TX and 9 outta 10 people are hooked. I return to California 2-5 time...

Taco treat. At least this specific location. It's a staple. It's like authentic home cooked Mexican food well, if mid-aged, all-american, suburban housewife dated a Mexican person for 3 months was cooking for a family of 5). Satire aside. It's good food at an okay price. Parking is a non-issue. Service is quick and most of the time nice. Small place that dishes comfort cravings and long-term fans. To sum it all: this is the birthday meal pick for multiple members in our extended family.

So we came here since I saw it on social media during regular business hours on a, weekend and it looks abandoned. I don't think it's open anymore. Was looking forward to trying the deep fried burrito. We came by on a Friday afternoon I believe. We will try again. Maybe we will call first.

This is an Arcadia landmark. If you visit, make sure you order a classic bean and cheese burrito, don't forget the sauce. Cash only business, so hit up the first. You won't be disappointed!

These place are for Local Natives. They don't have big name brand backing them up. But if you were ever out on your bike or skateboard on a sunny day and are hungry. This might be for you.

I grew up in Monterey Park and we went to Taco Treat on Garfield. Which has been gone for many years. So happy there's still a Taco Treat available for those fried burrito cravings yum!

Taco Treat has good food and quick service. The portions are big and worth the price. Taco Treat has been in our neighborhood for a very long time.

Comfort food at its finest with deep-fried burritos. Salsa has a good taste. Just be aware cash only.
