We arrived at this restaurant at 3,30 pm the kitchen was closed and they didn’t have anything to eat. Not even a piece of cake. They told us everything was finished. We can understand this, no claim, but what I found unpleasant was the approach...of the two ladies. My French is quite good and I entered the restaurant with a smile and what I got was very annoyed replies. The tables outside were full of people drinking coffees and bier so we stayed inside for a coffee and an ice-cream and the service didn’t improve, they seemed unpleased. Maybe they were just tired.....
Nous sommes tombés par hasard sur ce petit café/restaurant après la fin de l'heure du déjeuner. Nous avons commandé trois matafans. Ils étaient tellement bons. Parfaitement cuit et toujours aussi savoureux. Il s’agit d’une création spécialisée du chef qui n’est réalisée nulle part ailleurs. Servi avec une belle salade verte croustillante légèrement garnie. Le service était sympathique, serviable et rapide. Vraiment une surprise inattendue dans un restaurant/café très simple.
We've been delighted by this restaurant. We're eating with the locals. The welcome is very good. dishes are houses at a reasonable price. the dish of the day was 8,50 euros, and well copied. desserts are very successful too. you can eat on terrace as indoors. The service is very rhythmic and always smiling. we ate very well, I recommend this place without worries! We'll be back here with pleasure. We feel people working with professionalism and it's fun.
Had planned to have a pic-nic in the vineyards, but all the supermarkets were closed for siesta, so stopped at this cafe. I had the Alcienne and my girlfriend had the quiche lorraine. Both with a good salad with vineagreitte. Service was used to tourists...and understood english. It was good sitting in the sun on the place in this little cosy town, and would give it 3,5 if I could. But can't give it 4. Still recommend for lunch if you around Réservez une table maintenant
Good value set lunch of traditional Alsatian cuisine. Each course had a good choice of options, including some local specialities that I hadn't come across before. Generous portions but quite rich. Service slow and slightly curt as they were very busy. Nice ambiance outside with...views of a quiet square. Inside more like a bar.
I wanted to go to the mountain home and look by my man and my daughter for lunch. the owner, a very rude lady, almost threw us away! the restaurant was open, alleged, until 20 o'clock it was 2 o'clock. terrible! never comes again. a. much better place in ribeauvillé, which I highly recommend! the way into the city
En tant que famille, nous aimons prendre un café quand nous sommes de passage. On nous a dit que ce n'était pas possible car nous devons également manger quelque chose. Apparemment, les Français ne savent servir que des boissons. Accueil peu sympathique et incompréhensible.
Thoroughly recommend this place. Quality local food and local wines. They have a unique specialty: Matafan. This is a dough base served both sweet and savoury toppings. Also the local braised beef, pork and chicken dishes are wonderful. Réservez une table maintenant
