Mount Athos Cafe - Réservation de table

My husband and I enjoy Greek food and while traveling in the area were drawn to this restaurant by the great reviews. We stopped for lunch and were seated quickly. The restaurant is pleasant inside but has no decorations or anything to make you feel you are eating in a Greek Restaurant. My husband ordered one of the specialty burgers and I ordered the gyro sandwich. Since the only choice for a side with my gyro was coleslaw and I don’t eat mayo, I upgraded to a Greek salad with my sandwich (offered as an option for additional price of $5.50). I'm not from AZ, but we were in Florence for work, and we were able to make it here twice. Once when we first arrived, and again before we left a few months later. (The best way to start and end that journey. Great appetizers, great gyros, delicious desserts, wonderful staff who not only offer excellent service, but they were theatrical and seemed excited to be there. We ordered a flaming cheese appetizer, and they made a table-side spectacle of it, lighting it on fire with a small torch. It was fun, and we miss not having access to it anymore. Highly recommend if you're in Florence.

We had the most amazing server, she was both efficient and engaging. The food was good, but disappointingly expensive. There was no kid's menu so I wound up paying nearly $20 for my 8 year old. The hummus was good as was the pita bread. The gyro was fine too. Just can't get past how myself and an 8 year old wound up spending $70 on hummus appetizer, a cheeseburger and fries, a gyro, and 2 non-alcoholic drinks. Save this one for date night.

The food here, and ambience was very, very good! The staff we talked with were all very kind, and warm welcomes were received as we walked in. We had no idea that this little gem was in Florence, AZ. We will go back again, for sure! Réservez une table maintenant
