It seems that Mr. Baguette has undergone a change in management because the quality of their sandwiches has drastically declined compared to six years ago. The bread is consistently stale, and while egg bahn mis from other places are usually enjoyable, this place has fallen short. They’ve removed the radishes, carrots, and other vegetables that typically enhance the flavor. The prices are quite high for what you get—$7 to $8 for just bread with eggs and peppers, with no other ingredients included. I would recommend going to Run Mi My Tho or Ba Le instead, where you can get a much better sandwich for only $4.
I have the grilled pork and lemongrass beef with sandwiches. They were both so good!!! Both had meat that was really well marinated and perfectly constructed in the Banh mi. The butter and mayonnaise with the meat (bef pork) were delicious. I couldn't get enough of it. Even if I haven't eaten here for a few years, the taste is still the same and it didn't disappoint at all! I eat slowly to enjoy the taste, and I wish I had bought more than I was done. This quality and portion is worth the price. Come on! Mr. Baguette has reliable Banh mi! It is certainly a house of quality. New!
We had grilled pork and lemongrass beef Banh Mi sandwiches, chicken curry, and a large croissant with iced coffee. Our family really enjoyed the sandwiches; the baguettes were crispy, fresh, and perfectly soft. The chicken curry was excellent—very flavorful and bursting with taste! On our next visit, we plan to try more sandwiches. The iced coffee was strong and tasty, but it had a bit too much ice cream for my liking. Overall, this is a great spot for Banh Mi sandwiches!
It?s been several years since my last visit but the sandwiches felt like they were slapped together and not made and served with the love and care the staff used to put into serving their customers. The prices have gone up over 20% in the past two years. For the price and what you get, apologetically, I recommend going elsewhere. The ingredients in our sandwiches were awfully skimped on. This used to be my favourite Vietnamese sandwich shop in the SGV. ? Réservez une table maintenant
