Mulata is an absolute gem in the Chicago area and a true treasure in Oak Park! I can't help but give them 5 stars because they truly deserve it. The chicken empanadas are simply incredible—so moist and bursting with flavor. As a Brazilian expat, the taste instantly transports me back to the flavors of my homeland. But it doesn't stop with the empanadas; the Bobo, PF, and Feijoada are all delicious, and I can honestly say I've never had a meal here that wasn’t outstanding. The food offers a delightful journey through Brazilian cuisine, and it's clear that the chefs pour their heart and soul into each dish. And let's not forget the desserts—they are out of this world! Each visit is a wonderful...

We were pleasantly surprised to find this chill spot with amazing food. Everything was delicious. We had empanadas, a soup and the Mulata Bella sandwich. A cup of soup is Big! And the empanadas are filling. The price was reasonable and I would definitely go again. Vegetarian options: Delicious and high quality. Parking: All around are spaces. It’s busy but less than one round the block should do it. In the pictures I posted, you’ll see that I ordered the Meatloaf sandwich. It was a typical burger—not particularly extravagant—but still very delicious. On another occasion, I tried the Mulata Bella sandwich, which comes with eggplant, portobello mushrooms, cheese, and arugula, and it was equally delightful. There’s also free Wi-Fi available, along with soft background music, which creates a relaxing atmosphere for journaling or working on your laptop. During my visit, there was a lunchtime rush around noon when many students from a nearby school came in, but they left fairly quickly, allowing me to enjoy the ambiance with just a few other diners. I highly recommend this charming spot!

This quaint coffee and snack shop is situated at the corner of Oak Park Avenue and Lake Street in Oak Park. They provide a diverse selection of coffee, featuring both popular classics and some unique blends that you won't encounter anywhere else. Additionally, there are a few snack options to choose from. It’s a wonderful spot to unwind and connect with friends or family. While there are outdoor seating options available, it can get a bit noisy since it’s right on the street, and pedestrians pass by frequently. Finding parking in the area can be a bit tricky due to the limited availability of street parking. Overall, it’s a delightful place for dining in. Réservez une table maintenant

Absolutely obsessed with this place. It’s a small cafe that does Brazilian foods and I love it. The empanadas are always hot and ready. The cheese bread is amazing. I usually get the turkey meltdown. I can’t get enough of the Brazilian lemonade. I also love the lattes especially with added lavender flavor. I’ve been back here more times than I can remember! Ordered the prestigio cake for my Brazilian girlfriend’s birthday who always talks about missing Brazilian cakes. She absolutely *loved* it! It reminded her of home and the cake texture and moisture was perfect. The owner was also very nice and informative when I called to order. We’re definitely going to visit in person soon Service: Delivery Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

As someone else mentioned, it seems like there are a lot of young people managing the restaurant. They ran out of chicken, but we weren’t informed until we inquired about our food after waiting for 30 minutes. On a positive note, the food itself is quite delicious. Overall, I would rate it as follows: Food: 4, Service: 1, Atmosphere: 2.

Mulata is one of my favorite cafes in the area. They kindly sponsored my daughter's 2025 Moby-Con Event at Fenwick, and the staff was incredibly helpful through the whole process. Mulata offers great ambience, nice staff, and delicious food (I love the spinach empanadas). Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Réservez une table maintenant

The coffee is robust, and there are fantastic drink selections available. The menu showcases a delightful Portuguese/Brazilian influence on the food and other offerings. Overall, I would give the food a rating of 4, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4.
