This is a charming, small locale on a bustling street corner. Mulata means: a beautiful, unique, and exotic blend of people, cultures, nations, ethnicities and languages. The Brazilian Kitchen menu offers vegetarian and non vegetarian options, pastries, smoothies, hot and cold coffee, lemonade. I picked up a take out order from here once and decided to return for a dine in experience because the place place was so charming. Mulata is an absolute gem in the Chicago area and an Oak Park treasure! I can't help but give them 5 stars because they truly deserve it. The chicken empanadas here are simply incredible – so moist and bursting with flavor. As a Brazilian expat, the taste instantly takes me back to the flavors of my homeland. But it doesn't stop at empanadas. The Bobo, PF, and Feijoada are all delicious, and I can honestly say that I've never had a meal here that wasn't amazing. The food is a delightful journey through Brazilian cuisine, and it's evident that the chefs put heart and soul into each dish. And let's not forget the treats! They are to die for! Every visit is a delightful experience for the taste...

I love popping in to grab a quick espresso or coffee. The beans they use for both are top quality. Be careful around lunch and early afternoon hours. Lots of guest ordering food items and that process usually takes a long time when there are more than three people in line. I wish they could implement a process to streamline this or a drinks only line because the length of time it takes to order and make a shot of espresso does not warrant a 10-15 min wait.

Nice coffee and snack place in Oak park. It is at the corner of Oak park avenue and lake Street. Lots of coffee options, regular ones and some unique ones for this place. They do have a few snack options. Nice place to hang out with friends or family. There is a place to sit outside on the street but it is a little noisy and people walking right next to you. Hard to find parking around here as there are limited street parking spots. Service: Dine in

The secret is out on this place. Originally when we would come here, it would only be us and a few others but now this place packs out! No surprises. the cheese balls are amazing and the best part of the experience. they seem to have young kids running the place so it’s a bit disorganized. we had to ask about our drink order because it never came out. the sandwich was very good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

Like someone else said: they have a bunch of kids running the place. They ran out of chicken but nobody told us, until we asked 30 minutes later where was our food. Aside from that, the food is really good. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
