Having been raised at the knees of Caribbean and African women, sometimes I’m just in need of some soul food. I’ve often gone past Mullins and seen that it is busy, and looks bright, clean, warm and friendly. And it is. The decor works really well. Low-key, warm and welcoming. Music is a soothing stream of lilting Caribbean classics. The waiting staff are lovely. So friendly. And the menu looks great. There isn’t too much of it, and it is quite hard to choose because it all sounds amazing. Price points are really good. But. The food is genuinely terrible. I went for a Creole fish stew. I don’t know how you can make a stew without flavour. When you are cooking things slowly and together, flav...

We were disappointed that the food was not more authentically Caribbean. For example, pitta bread, halloumi cheese, tofu and other European options were featured on the menu. The chef seems to have lost his mojo, if he ever had it to begin with. The rice with black-eyed peas had very few peas in it. There was no real taste or flavour, the food was very bland. The Coconut rum punch seemed devoid of alcohol, whilst the non-alcoholic cocktail was too sweet to drink. We were the only diners at lunchtime, so the restaurant had zero atmosphere. Despite being the only table we struggled to get the attention of the waitress who ignored us and chatted on the phone. We had high hopes of finding a good...

What a treat, a Caribbean restaurant serving utterly authentic delicious food. Started with jerk chicken and mango salad and the tender/crispy Salt and Pimento Calamari. Both fabulous. Then we had the Penne with Jerk Sausage and the melt in your mouth Oxtail stew. The Oxtail was so tender and tasty. Desert was a light baked cheesecake and a ginger sponge with toffee sauce that we swooned over. They have an incredible selection of Rums from the legendary Appleton to the Demerrera Rum for Guyana that I ended in, sweet and rich almost a desert in its own right. Service was friendly and the night was a real treat

When we visit Margate we always book a table at Mullins. We’ve been going to this restaurant for more than twelve years and it rarely disappoints. Tonight they excelled. The staff were attentive and charming. My husband had the mussels in coconut and curry sauce he described them as fantastic and wished he had had them for a main course. For mains he had goujons and chips wonderful! I had the jerk burger, every mouth full was a delight. You will not be disappointed with dinner at Mullins. Thank you to all the staff for a great dinner. Réservez une table maintenant

It was our 49th anniversary . So, as we had not been here quite a few years ,we thought we would revist It in the hope that it was still as nice as we remembered. The place did not disappoint us .The young lady who served us was very friendly . I am Jamaican, so I was bought up on West Indian food. I can put my hand on my heart and say that apart from my grandmother and my mother's cooking .This is the best place for soul food .Well done, chef.

I booked our table, on a recommendation from a friend. The staff, were welcoming, attentive and very professional. The choice of dishes was great and the food itself was beautiful and well-presented. Great cocktails and an excellent wine list made for a very enjoyable meal for all. Thank you to all concerned. I look forward to our next visit.

A good few options of food if you're looking for more variety in your Margate offerings. Portions were a good size, and the service was friendly. Drinks were also a highlight especially if you're a rum fan! A cozy, central spot, would deffo reccommend.

Everything was very good, the service, atmosphere and especially the food, not to spicy unless you ask for Real authentic flavoring and then the Caribbean experience is excellent, would recommend and will certainly return. Soon.
