This is a lovely restaurant with a great view. I expected to be the food to be really good and it was terrible. My husband and I shared a pork chop and the Soup of the Day (Cream of Asparagus). I started with the pork chop and couldn't eat my first bite because it was so fatty. I traded and tried the soup which was flavourless and watery. He saved a a portion of the pork for me and it was really pink. I expressed concern about the pork and they took it off our bill acknowledging that it was slightly undercooked. I had positive experience few months ago while being on business trip in Canmore. Wanted to come back with family this summer so made a reservation 4 weeks in advance through the on-line reservation system. Big surprise tonight, the restaurant was "close" due to wedding. That's fine to book entire place for this party but it's total lack of respect not to inform customers who had reservation! With technology, it was very easy to notify us for this change. The "reservation system" even sent me a reminder today!We all lost time, and Murrieta's lost customers tonight. Won't be going back, business or personal.

We got to the quaint town of Canmore and walked around and came upon this 2nd floor restaurant after 9 p.m.. My husband had the steak and I had a salad with fruit. The menu changes often so I could not name the meal. Everything was fresh and higher quality to the point I asked about their purveyor of produce. The staff was professional and quick. We had dessert and both of us were happy. I would definitely go back to Murrieta's again. I read the poor reviews and can't imagine the food is so inconsistent, but I hope you give it a try.

We were looking forward to a nice dinner, and having no reservations, were not surprised to be seated in the lounge. However, we were surprised that it took three different people to place our food and drink order, and seriously disappointed to find our food served COLD - There was a reasonably quick replacement meal provided - and a sub par apology. At $37 for a small piece of halibut it should have been exceptional. Definitely a lot better places in Canmore to eat Réservez une table maintenant

Un endroit vraiment plaisant: grande salle, tables espacées, grandes baies vitrées, grande hauteur sous plafond. Niveau de bruit modeste. Carte très variée dans laquelle tout le monde trouve son compte. Très flexible pour modifier les plats proposés. Service souriant et agréable. Bref tout parfait et le meilleur des restaurants de Canmore dans lesquel nous soyons allés.

hadn't been to this place for years, kicking myself why we hadn't after our visit. doesn't look like much from the street, but very beautiful decor inside great original menu, excellent service, not cheap but fair value all things considered

Murrieta's has an interesting menu. Food was good. Ambiance was also good. Wine list was varied and reasonably priced. Our server was dismissive and not at all welcoming. Overall, a reasonable option for Canmore dining.
