It 's called My Father 's Kitchen, but don 't be fooled by the name I 've checked, and none of our fathers are actually cooking in there. I know, I was disappointed too.Now, the first thing you notice when you walk into My Father 's Kitchen is that it 's not really a kitchen. It 's a restaurant! The audacity! I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant in San Francisco. The workers were too busy to greet me, but the food caught my attention. The spring rolls and peanut sauce did not meet my expectations. The peanut sauce tasted too much like coconut and had too much oil in it. The rolls were large but lacked flavor, with bland pork and overcooked shrimp. I prefer to stick to small Vietnamese restaurants in the city for a more satisfying dining experience.
I am so happy to have finally found a delicious Bun dish! The flavors were vibrant and the dressing was perfectly balanced. I have had bland fish sauce dressings in the past, but not here - so disappointing. And the addition of all the fresh herbs like mint, cilantro, shiso, and Vietnamese cilantro made the dish even better. Thank you!
My Father's kitchen is the best phở Hanoi I had for a while. Their phở bò gà is authentic in broth flavor, delicate flat noodles (not those common dry ones), and chicken texture Definitely a new contender in San Francisco. Ended having 2 bowls in a row because it is soo good.

This locally owned family restaurant deserves FIVE STARS all the way. They serve free-range organic Mary's chicken and use fresh ingredients. What more could you ask for? This SF gem is definitely worth a visit! Support local businesses!
It’s good for the area its in. A cute little pho shop. I got the pho bo dac biet without noodles, the meat and broth was good. A good lunch spot. It can get crowded in there but be patient with them! The staff is really nice!
The vermicelli plate at this restaurant is far from authentic, resembling more of a mediocre salad than traditional Asian cuisine. I chose not to give it a one-star rating simply because they are a local small business.
Unusual name for a Vietnamese food restaurant but food is good. Loved the roasted pork with vermicelli ... but I asked for on rice instead and they accomodated. It is a favorite of local health-care employees.
