I really enjoy this restaurant. The games, atmosphere, and staff are all fantastic. They also have a great selection of beer. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. My wife and I ordered cocktails and food last night and were disappointed. I ordered the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was underwhelming - just two small pieces of chicken between two buns with no sauce or other toppings. The tots were good though. The cocktails were small and unimpressive. Despite the disappointing food, I still love this place and used to enjoy the food more. I probably won't eat here again, but I will return for the great atmosphere.
My Parents' Basement is underrated as far as their vegan options. They update their menu a few times a year, but for a while they have had a vegan gyro made with their homemade seitan and a vegan ruben, also with seitan. Over the years they have had a few different types of veggie burgers and vegan corn dogs. The beer list is also great, featuring many local micro brews but also a unique lineup of non-locals that you won't find in most places. Tip as a side, skip the fries (event though they are good) and go for the sauteed spinach. Oh yea, they have free retro video games.
The food at this restaurant is typical bar food. The nachos were delicious, but the hamburger was just average. The ordering process is a bit strange, as you have to get your own water from a water station, which is not ideal. Additionally, the screen prompts you for a food tip even before your order arrives. Overall, this restaurant tends to be pricier than others of its kind. I probably won't be returning since there are many other restaurants in the area that allow you to tip at the table and offer cheaper burgers.
they have a good amount of vegan options, including a burrito, vegan gyro, vegan maishunde, vegan burger and a few vegan sandwiches. they have vegan meat substitutes and vegan cheese. the vegan options of the menu are marked clearly. most of their salads can also be made vegan. the food is good and it is definitely worth it for the atmosphere. most of their arcade games are free to play that are not just a few cents. a really funny way to pass the time. this is a really funny place to hang and get great food. I was really surprised to see the vegan options that a vegan black bean burrito black bean burger, rübenburger (my fave) vegan reuben and vegan krabbenpatty. The sides include vegan cole Slav, pommes, embellished spinat. I love to order it and then play the flipper and free pac man machines or read some great comics.
love this place! her beer is great and vegan decisions are amazing. while changing the menu a bit, their vegan options are not the regular impossible burger. they have the best gyro and reuben in the city, and their rübenburger is so good! the Farro salad is delicious, and they have vegan corndogs (I think light live highly recommended.
A creative menu, great beer selection, expansive patio, and games/comics while you wait. I have only been once thus far and had the beet burger. The burger was delicious, but seemed kind of thin/not super filling. I definitely want to give it another try as they had more than one vegan option.
