visited the Nags head yesterday n a recommendation. must say we are not disappointed. greeted at the door and shown on our seat, we were offered three different menus a list of specialties, a light bite and a list of home cooked food. we decided... on the homemade menu and chose the 10oz tons of bones ****, the gammon and eggs and the homemade faggots all with homemade chips. the food came in good time and was pissed hot. the pork was 2 centimeters thick and very juicy and accompanied by the thickest piece of black pudding ever, the gammon was nicely cooked and had a hauch of senf and honey and the faggots were very tasty and well seasoned. the best piece of the evening were the wonderful ho...

My mum and her sisters visited for lunch. All three had something from the small portion menu £5.50 each. Two had cottage pie, one with veg and one with mushy peas. The portion of cottage pie for each was approximately 4cm x 12cm and 4cm...deep! Vegetables were ok (ish), mushy peas just one small spoon full. Absolutely disgusted that they charged £5.50 for ridiculously small portions. They're all pensioners so didn't want to complain or cause a fuss and certainly will not return, that's for sure.

Nice little pub. Traditional with beams. Small family business. Good bear. Friendly. Food have had dinner there a couple if times. Booking recommended as they stop serving quite early (8pm Menu good and varied. Now food is not exotic or anything BUT...it's very nice. Big portions. Well cooked. Hearty. Consistent. Very good prices. Recommend the white chocolate cheesecake with real rasperries and ice cream. BIG PORTION! Will be visiting again this week.

Visited for dinner and as per the many occasions we have been the food and bar service was really good and the food excellent.Liver and bacon with mash and peas and Cajun Chicken follwed by Bread and Butter pud with custard. The Marstons Pedigree is...great too.Proper pub food, great value and highly recommended.

I just celebrated my birthday with 11 friends at the nags and each of us enjoyed our meal. it was generous portions nicely cooked at a reasonable price and we will all definitely return. good old-fashioned meals and delicious puddings.

the pub has the air to be old-fashioned, and if they are in, there is nothing wrong with it! very traditional kitchen well cooked for a price I am more than happy to pay. should serve longer as it safe custom for such great foods.

nags head sawley great traditional pub with beautiful staff and home cooked eating. there was plenty of parking and a relaxing atmosphere would definitely recommend family and friends

to.many dogs in the bar .should of gone to a dog show less dogs .beer not good. live on a boat. canel water taste better than what came out of the pump
