First of all, they suddenly decided that two people could not share a Thali (which is a fixed portion, not a buffet where sharing is unlimited). Up until today, they never cared whether we shared the Thali or not. If someone pays the bill, it shouldn't matter if one person or two people are eating it. Not everyone has the same appetite. They even suggested we take the Thali home to share, but we wanted to dine in. This time, they embarrassed us in front of family members who had just arrived from India and were very hungry after a lovely day out. They really ruined our happy time.

After coming back from San Francisco and enjoying Indian food there, we sought out to find an Indian restaurant near our house in South OC. We found India Grill in Aliso Viejo and loved it! The selection on the menu is vast with many vegetarian options, which is great because I tend to not eat meat. the interior is simple and not too fancy, which we appreciate so that we can come as we are! My spouse ordered the coconut curry chicken and I had an eggplant vegetarian dish. We also ordered Shrimp Biryani rice, Garlic Naan bread and Papadum (a thin cracker-like treat with sauces). We ordered the Allo parantha and ended up waiting 20 minutes for the other parantha. By the time the rest of our food arrived, we weren’t even hungry anymore. When we asked the staff about the delay, they seemed clueless. I ordered Indian coffee, expecting something traditional, but it was just regular coffee heated up in the microwave. Also, the restrooms weren’t working. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. Service: Dine in.
Our first experience at India Grill a couple weeks ago was fantastic! The food was wonderful. Our whole family enjoyed it especially the Lamb Biryani (one of the best I have ever tasted)! The service was friendly and yet very professional. The prices were pretty good considering the high quality of the food and service. We are heading back to India Grill tonight! Thank you!

Outstanding!! A friend recommendedI India Grill and we will now be visiting frequently!! We ordered the saag paneer and chicken tikka masala... both were absolutely delicious. (I mean, mouthwatering delicious. The restaurant is simple and cute; the people are so kind and friendly... it was just a wonderful experience we plan to repeat.
Hi yesterday I pickup up Lamb biryani for take out. When I reached home I opened the container and had one bite. It was really horrible food . All the rice was burnt and the lamb tasted as if it was very old. I am totally shocked about this. I have never had any like this before. I think this will be my one and only visit.

We love India Grill. The food is great. More often than not we do takeout because we live practically next door. But I prefer to go sit down. Samosas are made fresh every day. Really good with yellow daal or chat.
