A big shout out to the owners, and the entire staff at Napoli's Cafe in Stittsville! My husband and I have ordered take out during covid, and dined on their most beautiful and spacious patio over the summer and Fall months throughout the transition of these restrictions, every time we did so, the service and experience was second to none and nothing short than amazing! I was excited to try this place, but unfortunately it was left quite lacking. There was nothing WRONG with the place per se, but not enough right with it to warrant a return visit. Had a veal dish (almost 30 dollars) that was just okay, but the accompanying pasta seemed to be very average, and the vegetables seemed like a mismatch for the plate. If the pasta was actually made in house then I feel as though their game needs to be upped. The lady had another pasta dish that was quite uninspired and bland. I have never experienced such a NOISY restaurant that considers themselves upper end. Loud environment and one table of screaming , yelling, partying women made our dinner and celebration a very negative experience . How the ownership would allow this to take place at the detriment of others in the room was unbelievable. The calamari was sub par ….partially cooked inside and outside not crisp at all. Very disappointed. The spaghetti was average and the veal piccata was very good. The house wine was/is a valpolicella . It was on the sour acidic side so perhaps had been open for a long time ….avoid it.. We didn’t like it .
Do you like Mussels to have been steamed in a wine sauce? Not here! My wife and I had precooked Mussels that were warmed in a microwave and served covered with spaghetti sauce. We only ate a few. Do you like Cannelloni in pasta tubes stuffed with a filling? Not here! My Cannelloni was a blob of thick pasta. It seemed like pasta was rolled out to about 1/4 inch thickness, then a pencil of filling was run down the middle. It was folded over as if round. Then covered with the same spaghetti sauce. The brothers rate losing their grip on their father's apron strings for fine cuisine.
We had a great time dining there. We ordered the house wine, lamb rack and cheese escargot and calamari. The appetizers were above average. If we didn’t have a late lunch we would definitely order more dishes. The lamb rack was divine, it was done perfect. Their house wine was pretty good too. Customer service was great, they were all friendly and welcoming. We wanted to pay a visit on civic holiday but they didn’t open, it was ok, we will for sure visit again and try other dishes.
This is trying to relate how good the meal experience was: Our friends just bought a house and we came to Napoli to celebrate with a great dinner. The Meal was everything we hoped for with great service, The wives loved the wine, and the food was top notch. I am always surprised that such a great place is available in a little strip mall in our little suburban town. thank you for a great time.
