I've been coming to this restaurant the main restaurant and more recently the smaller Gutsschaenke since first moving to Germany in 1976. It's just a short drive or bicycle ride from our home, and it is the ultimate destination for someone looking for good traditional German cooking in a splendid setting. It's also the destination of choice when we have visitors from outside of Germany, when we want to give someone the full flavour and experience of a beautiful German restaurant. The food is consistently good, and the service is always friendly.
Each time I am in Germany, i will go to Gutsschänke Neuhof at least once. 41 years ago, our Wedding reception was catered by Neuhof. It was outstanding! Since then I moved to the United States but visit Germany at least every other year. My favorite main course is the Chateaubriand for two. it is always prepared to perfection! If you do not have time for a dinner coffee and cake are wonderful too. There is outdoor seating. The service is outstanding.
We had a meal inside the restaurant (there is also a large, nice outdoor seating area), but the experience was disappointing. The waiter was not paying attention, rushed, the meal was mediocre and the price not in line witn food or expeience. There are many good restaurants in the area, this is not neccessary to add to your list.
Staff is friendly and they have some nice dishes on the menu. The location is lovely, though interior somewhat special: playing the German card. Quality of the dishes is good however expensive. It is a rotary place: people willing to splash cash for some quality and something different, but there are much better places around. Réservez une table maintenant
