I’m truly disappointed to share this review, but my experience reflects how poorly this restaurant treats its guests. We had five unfortunate encounters in just one night.
My friends and I arrived hoping to enjoy a meal together. Here’s what happened:
1. We requested a table for nine at the reception. The staff initially checked and said it was fine, but then he stumbled and started acting strangely after speaking to someone else. His response: He asked for our IDs to confirm our ages. A few of us had them, but we were not planning to drink alcohol anyway. Then, he informed us that without IDs, there was no table available.

Best Reuben I have ever eaten and it 100% caught me off guard. I had spent the afternoon at Cira Green, soaking in Philly vibes as it was my last night in the city and I went to cruise around historic University of Pennsylvania and stumbled upon this establishment oh how the theory of dérive elicits the creation of beautiful situations! I ordered the Grilled Reuben sandwich with fries and a Yards IPA. Super thinly cut corned beef was a different take than usual, but on a flat top grill might allow for more surface area covered in butter or whatever heart stopping goodness that was cooked with. Stopped in for afternoon drinks with local friends. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, surprisingly cheap drink prices. Good Blue coat martini! Apps were tasty and filling expected bar food quality. Cheesesteak egg rolls are intriguong, but needed more cheese (or other moisture). Had a great time and would return if ever in the Penn area.
We drive into Philadelphia once a year for a doctor's appointment found New Deck Tavern three years ago. We always look forward to our lunch there! Atmosphere is great food is delicious! They serve amazing burgers that are incredibly moist and packed with flavor. Our waitress impressed us by memorizing our order without needing to jot it down, and she brought everything out to us perfectly. The food came out quickly and was served hot. It's a fantastic place to dine!
I took my little one to CHOP and needed somewhere to have dinner. We arrived at 4 PM, and the staff was fantastic! The food was delicious as well! Plus, since we were the only ones in the area, they put on Toy Story for my kid to watch! I will definitely be coming back here!
One of my favorite places to eat. My husband and I drive almost 2 hours to have New Deck. The atmosphere is great, staff is friendly, and the food is amazing. I highly recommend the cheesesteak and baked potato soup. Plus the endless choices in beer
We had lunch at this restaurant and really enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious, and I relished every bite. The singing bartender was a bit distracting while we were trying to watch the football game, but he delivered exceptional service.

Five Stars! Loved this place. The food was very good. The waitstaff was friendly and the food came out fast even though they were busy! Everyone at the table remarked about how good their food was. They even had Mango Cart, my favorite!
Best pint in the city! The food and exquisite drinks are amazing, but what truly stands out is the fantastic staff. I can't wait to visit again!
