Ordered takeaway. Chinese. Driver rang an hour after ordering saying he was lost. Turned up half hour after that Chicken balls were appalling. Soggy batter cooked in old oil, chicken spongy and raw in the middle, all the other food very very poor When I rang to complain I was told they couldn't come to me to refund as it's too far!!! They spent 10 minutes on phone ignoring me and shouting in Chinese until eventually coming back to tell me to drive it back for a refund I drove to their establishment and was shouted at in Chinese and pointed at by the little stroppy woman who works there while still shouting Chinese No apology and very little English spoken to me, mostly shouted at in Chinese Was there 15 minutes while they rang the manager and shouted more in Chinese until I eventually got a refund. 3 hours of my day for late, raw, poor quality and over priced food I honestly cannot warn against this place enough: it is not edible. Made us very sick aswell as we had eaten half a chicken ball each, both raw and badly cooked with poor quality ingredients Negatives: Rude Abonoxious Arrogant Poor food Expensive Undercooked Poor quality Poor service Slow delivery Positives Rice was JUST about edible but 1 dish out of 12 being just Ok and the others being terrible is just not good enough No wonder this place is ranked bottom in hoddesdon. Awful Avoid. Like the plague.
Great chips. cant go too wrong with them. But I had a portion of sweet and sour chicken balls and when I bit though the massive amount of batter my mouth was full of liquid cooking fat and inedible pseudo chicken paste. Most disgusting thing I have ever bitten into. My taken on deep fried chicken balls is for a juicy piece of breast meat in a light batter. What I got was some reformed grey jelly meat inside a soggy ball. Will this review bother them? No the Ding Wah has been there for about 500 years so nothing is going to shift them or make them change their ways. Like the chips. But thats it.
Got sausage and saveloy and 1 portion of chips to share with me and my little sister the sausage was ok, saveloy was disgusting and hard my sister couldn't even eat it! and the chips were all brown and mushed up tasted awful couldn't even eat it ended up throwing away will never go and waste my money their again. They give you warm chips that have been left there for ages so annoyed and hungry now!
I've never visited the shop, we always order for delivery but Chinese is hot, tasty and not too oily/greasy. Very salty but unless you make it fresh, it's never going to be great. Chicken with cashew nuts is delicious as is the roast pork szechuan style. Will continue to order when feeling the need for something a bit naughty and grubby!
