With our party of 14, we were going to hit that minimum without any problems. Parking: Located on the second floor in the Gold World Plaza, parking is plentiful if you access the underground parking area. Just go slow when you head down because it is a steep decline. I was at Golden Soup with my Mom and two brothers this past weekend. This was our first time back dining in since COVID 19 lockdown. Unfortunately, the food flavors and taste have gone downhill. It's not just this restaurant... I'm seeing it at other restaurants, too. Not sure what's going on... it's almost like the great chefs have left the food industry and the okay chefs have entered because the great ones are no where to be found. It's really sad. My grandparents frequent this restaurant every week and we go sometimes for special occasions. Pretty much your typical Cantonese banquet style seafood restaurant. They do have lunch specials and it 's very affordable. Food for the most part is decent, but for the price it is a great value. Menu is huge. There 's lots of parking in the back plus underground parking. The restaurant is on the second floor. They have private rooms for reserved events, and they had set banquet meals too (at least before pandemic). Portion wise it is good. Overall a solid Canto style banquet restaurant. We had a party of about twenty adults and a few kids. Our two tables ordered two preset dinners and the food was quick to arrive one after the other after everyone was seated. The quality of the food preparation has dwindled and it was obvious when it came to the taste of the sea cucumber. Every other dish besides the sea cucumber was pretty authentic to ethnic Chinese flavors. I would give this restaurant a try if you're ever in the neighborhood and interested in a family style Chinese lunch or dinner. It's worth the experience and your tastebuds will thank you! They filmed a scene of Bosch here lol. The food is delicious. Some dishes are better than others. Lunch special prices until 6pm, which is pretty unheard of elsewhere. Orders come with free servings of soup. Bone broth with some vegetables and beef. Nothing really exciting but still nice. I suppose that is where the name of the restaurant comes from. Spinach with garlic and scrambled eggs with shrimp dishes are great. The protein in the clay pot dishes tend to be quite dry.
RIPPED OFF and HOSTILE SERVICES! $36.95 for a Peking Duck is cheating and ripped off when they charged a roast duck for a Peking Duck price. Its duck was brown color and soft skins with bones which are NOT Peking Duck at all. The waiter was irate, hateful, despicable and toxic; he barked at me like a mad dog to tell him that I want a Peking Duck, NOT a Roast Duck. For safety's concern, I left and STRONGLY NOT recommend this place to anyone!
Soup and rice come with your meal and it only cost $8.5 for lunch. However, the food doesn't taste very good and the chicken dishes always overly cooked. If you are looking for a cheap meal that can fill your stomach then go ahead but there are a lot better options in the area.
I was surprised about how delicious the dishes were because last time I didn't really like it. The price you can't find anywhere else.
