Listen. I don't think I have too high of a bar when it comes to Scottish Chinese food. I want it hot, crispy and salty and I don't think this is too much to ask. I got in from a six hour drive with my best friend and I didn't have anything in, so she and I and my partner thought right, let's order in. Our favourite Chinese was shut and this place had an offer on. What a WRETCHED mistake. You'd think that, when ordering a munchie box, some effort might be taken to preserve the crispness of any crispy items, but not here! Here, all four SOPPING, overly sauced dishes were heaped in together beside the rice and the crispy fried chicken! Thank Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey that we didn't...
I had a simple bog standard menu. Hot and Sour soup and Chicken Fried Noodles. The soup was bland not sweet and definitely not sour and I’ve had more “hot” from a Curry Pot Noodle. The noodles were also bland with a mini taste of soy and they were like sloppy, floury strands of tasteless muck! I’ve been going there for years, but no more; I’ll be swapping my weekly patronage to Toms just across the road, who produce better quality food (and larger portions) and although they are a little bit more expensive, they know how to cook and please their customers with tasty food. What a sad end to a once excellent takeaway! Look to your cooks Golden Star, they’re killing your business.
I have been using this place for years and since new owners took over it has gone down hill i orderd sweet and sour chicken balls with fried noodles ant toffee apple well the noodles where dripping in greese and they can not cook the chicken balls and the toffee apple where both un coocked the batter was sloppy not crisp the whole meal was awfull and my daughter said hers was the same i will not be using them again shame bring back Anne she would be horrified that they have run this place down so bad
After reading some reviews, I decided to give this restaurant a try, and I was pleasantly surprised! The tofu in black bean and tofu in chili and garlic were delicious, and the fried rice and salt and pepper chips were fantastic. The portions were generous and well worth the price. The staff was friendly, and we even received complimentary prawn crackers. I highly recommend giving it a try and deciding for yourself!

I recently enjoyed a delicious Kung Pao chicken dinner at this restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the ribs were particularly impressive. The curry puffs were also exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back for another meal. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the current circumstances, and the restaurant is fully compliant with COVID-19 regulations.
Ordered a meal December 2022 sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice and 2 portions of veg rolls.. the veg roles were full of grease, we ate the beansprouts inside 2 of them and threw the rest in the bin and the chicken sweet and sour was the worst meal from a Chinese take away we’ve ever had. Very poor standard of food and we won’t be ordering from there again.
The staff are lovely and the food is excellent. I highly recommend this place. Their curry is amazing and all the dishes are delicious.
We usually except there 1.5 hour wait but now it’s even worse. Absolutely appalling service. 2.5 hours wait don’t bother
