I recently visited The Richmond for a catch up and sat outside in one of the huts with my dog. The outdoor area was clean and comfortable, with evening lights adding to the ambiance. The huts helped to block out noise from the road, creating a more intimate setting. The seats were padded and there was even a bowl of water for my dog. I enjoyed a tasty hot chocolate and some delicious salt and pepper chips, which were fresh and crisp with the right amount of seasoning. Arrived to find the carvery had stopped a few months before. But you can order a Sunday lunch from the menu. It’s a shame as I like to pick which meat/veg/gravy I want. Ordered from the small plates menu, Stilton Garlic mushrooms and lemon, spring onion and herb fish cakes. I was sadly disappointed as the mushrooms lacked flavour and taste, not enough Stilton or garlic. The fish cakes were extremely bland and slightly over cooked, too much potato and not enough fish and lemon. Left very disappointed.
We had another enjoyable evening out with some beers and tried our hand at the quiz. The beer was delicious and the lively conversation at the bar was as entertaining as always. The staff are making an effort to integrate the pub into the local community with various events and activities. It's definitely worth a visit if you haven't been in a while.
This breakfast was the worst. It was cold the first time, and when I asked for it to be changed, they brought back the same dish claiming it was fresh. However, it was clearly just warmed up in the microwave. I usually don't have any problems here, but the chef was off today.

The staff are friendly and polite., the menu suites a wide range of taste palettes . My partner who is a vegetarian says the choice of vegetarian food, and tastes as it looks.. Cathie and I and Lily our little dog have always been made very welcome .
