The entrance to the hotel is deceiving. There are a few steps at the entrance. On entering the establishment I was most surprised. There was lots of energy and it felt a bit reminiscent of a cosy English pub with timber all around and various objects to look at around the walls including lots of old musical instruments. There were various nooks and crannies which helped to make it feel cosy and meant that you could have conversations. The food was great. Large helpings, very reasonably priced and very tasty and varied menu. Drinks were also reasonably priced. On the night I went there was a live jam session that was fabulous. Live music is a regular event.
If you want to try a delicious alternative to the standard parma, try The New Hampton's "posh parma". It was a juicy piece of chicken encrusted with pistachio nuts and your choice of sauces, I chose the pepper sauce on recommendation from the guy behind the bar and it was an excellent accompaniment along with the fat chips and aioli. The service was friendly and helpful. The prices very reasonable. Overall we had a wonderful experience.
Cosy, quiet pub located in the heart of Kings Cross. Prices for both food and drink are great, especially during happy hour. Staff are polite, friendly and welcoming. We went back here several times, and will continue to do so as long as we are in Sydney. Also, their burgers are fantastic!
Went for dinner here as we couldn't find anything decent at a reasonable price. So glad we did. We both had steak with salad (lettuce with dressing is a more accurate name) and chips. The steak was a little over done for rare, but the taste was amazing! Would definitely eat there again.

Having found a bunch of overpriced restaurants, or low quality eateries in the Kings Cross/Potts Point area, we were pleasantly greeted with a good value menu. I had the lamb backstrap that was a good quality piece of meat cooked to perfection, with some tasty veggies.
Ate lunch here 12 months ago and returned again yesterday. Had the $10 burger lunch special. It was delicious, the chips were probably the best ever eaten. Nice hotel, friendly staff, cold beer. Will return again.
Really nice bar, food was nice - some of the best salt and pepper squid I have had for a long time. Prices good for Sydney Service was great, waiters were so quick and efficient.
This hotel looks nothing from the outside but inside it is definitely out to impress lots of different areas, bar, lounge and restaurant. The drinks and food are great too.

We recently had a meal at the New Hampton Hotel. The food and service was excellent and the drink prices surprisingly low.
You can eat as fancy as you wish or just enjoy a pub style meal with a great selection of beer and cider.
