First time and the Last. Wife and I have split shifts so we frequent the area during lunch break hours these past weeks. We spotted this place and wanted to try it out. First, It was an awkward place due to the very poor customer service but decided to stay. We ordered the Chicken Chow Mein and Teriyaki Chinese Rice Plate. Portions are good for the price but the food was not up to par. My Teriyaki chicken was on the cold side and was probably microwaved unevenly and the rice was not fully cooked. Deliciously Fresh Experience Ordered randomly on DoorDash and was incredibly impressed. After receiving our meals, I checked reviews and noticed some negative feedback, but I hope they maintain the quality we had on 3/31/22. The food was fresh, flavorful, expertly prepared, and truly enjoyable. Specifically, the vegetable fried rice was packed with vibrant vegetables. The Szechuan shrimp had the perfect level of spice to complement the flavors, and the shrimp were tender. The cream cheese wontons were light, subtly sweet, and perfectly cooked so the cheese remained creamy. The egg foo young was the best I’ve had in the past 20 years.
I was so excited to try this place. Drove 15 minutes and they literally turned off the open sign as I was walking in the door. I arrived at 9:30 on a Saturday night and they advertise that they take orders until 9:45. I tried to be flexible and asked topurchase a simple chow mein or fried rice, I assumed it was already cooked in bulk like other places. I was denied that aswell, pretty disappointing. Guess it’s true- Customers don’t always give reviews if they’re satisfied but they willalways leave a negative review if they had a bad experience. Bummer for everyone.
I had an excellent first experience dining at New Rice Bowl Express. A friend recommended this spot, and it quickly became my go-to for Chinese food and Boba Milk Tea. I ordered from their menu online, and the service was incredibly fast. The staff were friendly and professional throughout. When I got home, the food was still piping hot, and the portions were surprisingly generous. Overall, New Rice Bowl Express provided a wonderful meal and a great experience!

Ordered pickup (both my coworker and myself) I got teriyaki and rice, with a Carmel boba milk tea (THEY HAVE SO MANY CHOICES) my coworker got eggplant tofu, soup, and a few different sushi rolls. Both our orders were perfectly made, and tasted amazing! Andthe portions were excellent, plenty leftover for my husband (who was very happy with it, even cold) The servers were extremelykind and made sure everything was perfect. We will definitely be returning!
New Rice Bowl Express consistently delivers excellent Chinese cuisine with generous portions and exceptionally fast service. I ordered a vegetable over rice dish online, and the vegetables were remarkably fresh. When I opened it at the office, the meal was still piping hot. It made for a very satisfying lunch, and the portion was so large that I couldn’t finish it all. I highly recommend this restaurant!
One evening, a friend suggested I try a restaurant I hadn’t visited before. I was pleasantly surprised not only by the delicious and inviting aromas of the dishes I ordered but also by the generous portions; my meal was so big it lasted me three days! I have absolutely no complaints about New Rice Bowl Express and can’t wait to return for another meal soon!
This place offers consistently good Chinese food. Huge portions and very fast service. I ordered a vegetable over rice dish online. The veges were really fresh and the dish was piping hot when I opened it up back at the office. It was a satisfyinglunch that I couldn't even come close to finishing. I highly recommend this place.

Best Chinese food in All of Sacramento. I’ve tried many other places and nothing compares to New rice bowl. The foil wrap chicken and fried rice is Amazing. The general chicken and beef n broccoli is Too die for. And the best cream cheese wontonsI’ve ever had. I go here so often and spend so much money I’m gonna go broke. Lmao
Takeout only. Their chicken meals are very tasty, and the prices can't be beat. It's what Panda Express aspires to be.
