New York Restaurant

We were looking for Chinese food in Brockville and this was one of two places suggested at our hotel. We were tired after a day of poor driving in a winter storm and stopped for the night. The restaurant is in the old part of town and just a pleasure to sit at the window table for two watching the traffic go by and looking at the beautiful old buildings. Our waitress was a lovely young woman, very friendly and competent immediately making us feel at home. We both ordered combination plates which started with egg rolls and ended with almond cookies. I don't each Chinese food too often- but a couple times a year I get a craving for it. We usually come here, to the New York Resturant and last night was no exception. I got the weekend for one combo, which consisted of large portions of broccoli and beef, chicken fried rice, chicken balls, and an egg roll. I also got a hot and sour soup. All were delicious- I placed my order 20 minutes to close and all the ingredients were fresh. I reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for Chinese takeout, I never get that "sick" feeling after Chinese food either at this resturant!

Louis takes pride in his restaurant, and serves the best Canadian-Chinese outside of the Chinatowns in Toronto. Our main, Cantonese Chow Mein, was excellent, if a little short on the noodles. All of the vegetables, chicken, and shrimp were cooked perfectly, and were served steaming hot. The green tea was a good leaf. Chill garlic sauce and honey garlic were provided by our friendly and efficient wait person.

The best Chinese food in Brockville, Ontario, Canada bar none!!! Located in downtown Historic Brockville on King St. West. The Hot and Sour Soup is to die for. Large portions with many choices to choose from. Combination meals and lunch specials available. Large spacious dining room suitable for intimate dining and large family gathrings. A Brockville, Ontario, Canada landmark.

I have eaten at the New York Restaurant over the years under different owners. Always had good reviews of it. However, my last visit left me with a less than good impression. The food was over cooked in some cases, the egg rolls questionable and the chicken balls seemed as though they had been around for awhile. I won't buy there again.

le gout m'a pris de me prendre un bon repas de mets chinois , et le New York restaurant n’était qu'a quelques pas de mon hôtel. donc je me suis commander un # 1 pour une personne ...délicieux, frais, goûteux et abordable...spareribs miam miam...

We ordered take out last night for dinner and the order was filled by the time stated. The food was good and portion size very adequate, The prices have gone up substantially and felt we paid more then usual.

Surprisingly enough, the chef doesn't look like an Asian even! Food is great though. Excellent Chinese style decoration.

Alice and staff are always friendly. Food is good and priced right. They have the best general Tao chicken.
