I was visiting Gigondas on business in early December and being out of season, very few of the local restaurants were open for lunch however we were well advised to try Nez run by the very accommodating Fred. The restaurant is a short walk up the hill from the centre of the village and the local carpark is essential as parking in the village is near impossible. The restaurant is tiny consisting of a bar and a few tables however when the weather is more clement, most people would eat outside in the adjacent square. During the Winter off-season, the Nez! Bar à Vin is the only restaurant we could find open for lunch in Gigondas (confirmed by the tourist office). It is small but the wait-staff is friendly and the food was great, with reasonable prices. Even though the town seemed deserted, the place filled up after the noon opening. Since the caves in the area are closed noon to 2PM, this is a great place to enjoy lunch while waiting for things to open. We plan to go back.
We walked into this bar after being turned out by our first choice, as they were full for lunch. The folks at Nez quickly seated us at the bar with a view of all the empty Gigondas bottles hanging above that have gone before us. They had a great wine list so we ordered a white Rhone. We might as well order some lunch not knowing what to expect. My wife had he Osso Buco and I the salad. Both were terrific! Great decision!
Fred and team delivered an A+ event for our wedding kick off. We discovered Nez a few years ago on a trip with my wife and decided to start celebrating our wedding there with the family under the tree.Nez provided amazing food bites (dry meat,....) and fantastic wine to entertain our party of 40.Kids were so happy to order non alcoholic drinks also.Very professional service and attitude.Thank you!!!

"Un 'bistrot' comme il faut." Fred and his team make you feel super welcome and then the food and wines... delicious and perfectly matching! No wonder it is part of l'Oustalet, all situated in the typical Provençal Gigondas. A strong recommendation...

Cet restaurant est situé juste en face du palais et non seulement il offre une ambiance merveilleuse mais il propose également de très bons plats de style français de qualité.
Sleepy little village in the morning, great to sit here with a great breakfast selection and wonderful coffee (as many cups as you want!) and watch the world wake up...

Of course, great wine! Enjoyed some local Gigondas and Rose after lunch while the wineries were closed. The food looked good from our neighbors! Service was great
