The food here is very good. However, they need to organize a little better with what they cook daily. When you don't live in the area you drive in only to be disappointed that they don't have anything you like. Can they just post the food options on Facebood or their website daily? This would be very helpful to those that don't live in the area. You try calling and the phone is busy at lunchtime. You call at 11:00 11:30 a.m. and they have no clue what they are serving for the day. Please get a better system going so those that don't live in the area know exactly what is on the menu (hot food items) for the day. Want to give you my business!!! Thank you so much. Nica's, a local Italian deli and grocery store, offers delicious food at a great value. We tried their Eggplant Parm and Italian Combo sandwiches, both of which were excellent in quality and quantity. The pizza slices were surprising in their exceptional taste, with thick layers of cheese and sauce spread all the way to the edges of the thin crust. The banana chocolate chip bread was a huge, moist slab of deliciousness. Overall, the food was great, prices fair, and the store offers a variety of other grocery items. This was my second time trying the paninis from this restaurant. I still don't understand the hype, but this time I wasn't the one ordering. I was not impressed. They arrived an hour before the event started, so by the time it began, all the sandwiches were cold. The delivery person mentioned that he was busy with many orders and couldn't control the timing of each delivery, or at least, that's what I think he said - it was hard to understand him. The hot sandwiches had unmelted cheese and the bread was thick and not crispy as a panini should be. Perhaps they are better when ordered individually rather than in bulk. I personally would not choose to order catering from them again.
Nica's Market is small neighborhood, convenient, market known for their deli. They have a great selection of prepared foods, panini's, wraps, hot and cold sandwiches, pizzas by the slice, homemade soups, salads, stuffed breads and more. My wife ordered a slice mashed potato and bacon pizza, and a side cucumber and tomato salad.I ordered a lemon chicken hot sub. The sub was large and packed with chicken. The only problem was it wasn't hot, not even warm. There is a nice area to sit outside to eat. Problem here was the entire time we were swatting away bees. Great neighborhood spot to grab a quick sandwich or for the locals to do their grocery shopping. The establishment is clean, well organized, and fully staffed. The menu in the back of the store has a great assortment of both hot and cold sandwiches, catering, and salads. Everything looked super fresh and homemade. We tried the chicken cutlet, with fresh mozzarella, and roasted red peppers, on exquisite focaccia bread. It was delicious and a good value. The staff was friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of outdoor seating and parking on the street.

We ate here every day of our visit to New Haven, CT. The Caprese focaccia sandwich was a huge hit for us southerners. We miss this deli so much! There was a lot to choose from and they are even open for breakfast in the mornings serving bacon, egg, cheese croissant sandwiches. Worth every penny we spent there.
Line was long but both the deli and the checkout line went super fast. The chicken pesto panini is great. I recommend the Turkey club with pesto. Fire. And the cowgirl panini is also goated. Great snacks. Just a little expensive for store items but the sandwiches are a great price for the size! Réservez une table maintenant
