This is the comfort food you didn’t know you needed. Some friends and I happened to stop by during a quick trip to Richmond and had one of the best meals in quite a while. The flavors are well rounded and nuanced and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The vegetarian duo app was great-if you love collards their collards are truly top tier. Really informative about their food and ingredients. Also: I bought a large packet of their berbere Ethiopian chili blend to take home. Used it to make a spicy garlicky honey glaze for smoked chicken wings, and it’s unreal!
Yosef and Ben immediately make you feel welcome, walking in there made me feel like I was coming home for my favorite meal. Yosef is extremely knowledgeable about his recipes and clearly is a master of his craft. He spent extra time after they closed to talk with us and was not rushed. This was truly one of my favorite experiences I've had. If that's not all enough the food is so good and unique in its flavor truly one of a kind.
I ordered takeout here got the 5 veggie combo, im not too familiar with Ethiopian food but I was able to identify 4 of the samples I got, unfortunately the 5th one had cabbage carrots in it which should’ve been the shiro but it looks like I was given the atkilt instead. I’m disappointed my order was partially incorrect but also because the food wasn’t really impressive.
Great Ethiopian restaurant, food was amazing! We were greeted kindly right away, the menu was perfectly simple. Great Vegetarian options as well. I recommend the Doro Tibs w/Shiro and Siga Wat. Lovely restaurant can’t wait to be back in Richmond!

Amazing spot! Everything is Gluten Free with the exception of one item on their menu so it is easy to eat as a person with Celiac Disease. Dietary restrictions: Great for Gluten Free!
Absolutely fantastic food. Wonderful variety. Visit this location before they move and then again afterwards. A happy belly remembers fondly.
