Northport Sweet Shop

This place in its heyday must’ve been an amazing place to be. Still, I had rum raisin ice cream and it was real good. The shop has a lot of charm and has that 1940s/50s soda shop vibe. Closest thing you’ll get to time travel. Definitely worth a visit. They have their original menu in the window from way back when but it doesn’t highlight that it’s not their current menu so don’t fret, the hot open Turkey sandwich isn’t $40 ? but it was 40 cents once upon a time!

This review is not about the food as I wasn't given a menu, but instead, I walked in and a man was sitting in the back at a table bluntly asked me if I knew what I wanted. Really? There was only one couple at the counter....no one else there. I said that I didn't know what I wanted, to which he replied,, so you want a menu? Really? He never looked up or got up to give me a menu. RUDE!! I walked out dissapointed.

This is a hidden gem in Long Island ! A lot of the old folks know this but not the younger people. Love their homemade ice creams and definitely a class apart from the rest. The recipe is a classic and has been preserved since ages. A must visit if you’re craving for icecream in the area.

Iconic luncheonette, serving up juicy burgers and astonishing desserts !! Parking: Hard to find parking on the streets, but municipal parking is excellent. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu which I highly recommend for the money.

The Sweet Shop has delicious food, wonderful service and of course awesome sweet desserts.
