I’ve been a loyal customer of Oberweis Ice Cream And Dairy Store for 20 years, but over the last five years, their service has often left me disappointed. I usually order a large hot fudge sundae to go, but even when I watch them prepare it, I’m never confident about what I’ll find when I get home. Too frequently, the sundae contains noticeably less ice cream than expected, with an excessive amount of fudge on top. Recently, I had to wait several extra minutes because the teenagers working behind the counter were more focused on flirting than serving customers. I went out shopping with my friends and decided to stop by Oberweis Dairy for a good time, or so I hoped... They messed up my name terribly, and when it was finally my turn to order, I asked the cashier to ensure that my brownie was warm since it had been cold the last time I visited. When I received my brownie, it was as hard as a rock, and my spoon actually broke. I couldn't enjoy it at all and ended up not finishing it. I'm really disappointed; this used to be one of the best places for ice cream. Not anymore.
Disappointed with the service. I purchased two bottles of Milk first time at the store. One bottle was totally spoiled. The staff was also strange and they were requesting a tip for buying a milk. If it is for a milkshake or ice cream, adding a tip is understandable but, buying a milk bottle I don’t think so. It was very bad experience with the service as well as the quality of the milk.
Ice cream has the power to lift your spirits at any moment, and this place is a dream come true for ice cream enthusiasts. In my opinion, it’s the best ice cream parlor in Chicago. Their birthday cake and espresso caramel flavors are my all-time favorites. Plus, their shakes are absolutely fantastic. It’s a family-friendly spot, and they also offer free parking.

The staff were rather inattentive and confused our order. This appeared to be a common problem, as I saw another customer facing the same issue. Some employees were wearing AirPods, which made it hard to get their attention. Also, the ice cream didn’t taste as good as it once did.
The store isn’t prepared to assist people with allergies at all! As according to the staff, everything is cross contaminated with nuts, so you cannot get nut free frozen desserts, or they just door dash the products to the store but you have the wait
Best ice cream in the area. Daily made waffle cones. Fresh fudge, tons of different chocolates and caramel candy. All very good. Flavors change with the season. Enjoy the ice cream there and take the rest home.
The ice cream is tasty, but the prices are unfair for the average portion sizes. On top of that, they expect a tip? What kind of service justifies that? Haha!
