Initially, I came in for a drink, but I was quickly tempted by the impressive bread selection. My favorite was the Black Sesame Twist; it had the perfect amount of black sesame paste without being overly sweet. I also tried a few other breads, including the Green Onion Bread (which, unfortunately, only had onions on top rather than mixed into the dough) and a Chocolate Horn (delicious with its chocolate cream filling!). While I enjoyed the breads I chose, I did find that they were a bit on the oily side, likely due to the shiny glaze and possibly different fat content than I'm used to. They offer an extensive beverage menu with plenty of customization options — definitely worth exploring!...
Heard great things about this Taiwanese bakery so stopped by to pick up a cake and some baked goodies. Ordered the vanilla strawberry cake which was light, fluffy, and had the perfect amount of sweetness. As for the baked goodies:Coffee with sea sat butter: had a great coffee flavor crust but the inside had no taste. Matcha mocha with buttercream bun: great matcha flavor and the inside resembled more red bean paste than buttercream. Taiwanese style chicken cheese burger: not really a burger but more sandwich. Came loaded with Kraft slice cheese, chicken, egg, mayo, tomato, and lettuce. Black sesame bread: had a slightly nutty taste to itMilk bread: eat this by heating it up in the microwave...
I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed their baked goods. I came here in the late afternoon to pick up some buns for the family. Since it was so late in the day there wasn't too much of a selection available but still found some things that my family would enjoy. The prices for the buns are reasonable and I like that they offer buns in flavors that I've never tried before (ie wintermelon bun). I immediately tore into a couple buns for a taste and they are soft, fresh, and perfectly sweet. They also had quite a good selection of cakes in the case available for purchase. Haven't tried their drinks but they seem to offer a good selection of fun flavors. I'd definitely come here for...
Come early because many breads run quickly on a daily basis and you will leave with the unpopular ok rated bread selection. Even if the breads are wrapped individually, there are some fruit flies that come into the bag, so look out. I knocked a star because I feel that bread and drinks are not as good as they are used to. The cakes are beautifully designed and sweet look and the price is not too bad, but it is often comparable to many beautiful bakery cakes (like the tiramisu and other places make it better with taste and presentation and it is the same price). The parking situation is not so good, but it is not so bad and there is also a minimum of $10 purchase for card. Réservez une table maintenant
Going back to more SGV reviews instead of North OC, this is another long overdue review. I visited 'Oh My Pan Bakery Cafe, ' in the City of San Gabriel several months ago to find out they also sell drinks here. I vividly recalled I enjoyed the tea I got and some buns except some buns I got had a lot of cream on. I did have to scrape off some cream, but those buns were still tasty. The only reason I took off a star was for the small parking lot this bakery was located. I had to park the next plaza down because I was unable to locate any available parking here. Other than that, this would be a convenient bakery to go for lunch if one doesn 't feel like having a full meal.
This has become my go-to spot to pick up a birthday cake. I usually prefer Asian bakeries for cake as it's not as sweet. On this visit, I picked up the Matcha Strawberry Roll $23). This was good for just a few people since we weren't feeding a lot of people. This flavor sounded unique to me, but wasn't the best. You can barely taste the matcha flavor and was a bit too creamy, so I'll opt for the mixed fruit or mango cakes next time. Nonetheless, they still have pretty and tasty cakes along with lots of Asian baked goods. Plus, they give you a free happy birthday sign, knife, and candle to go with your cake.
My friends and I love the strawberry brick toast here. I've had it years ago and had the chance to try it again recently. I like the fact that they don't give you the whole crust anymore. The bread is toasted to perfection and compliments really well with the sugar and ice cream. The whipped cream, strawberry sauce, and fresh strawberries make it even better. You could probably eat the whole thing for dinner honestly. But since this was dessert, we split this into 3.
The baked goods are excellent, but they really need to improve their customer service. I've always ordered hot drinks there, but the staff often act as if it's a chore, and the drinks are frequently pre-packaged and overly sweetened. Because of this, I’ve started going less often. It's a shame because this used to be my favorite spot. Réservez une table maintenant
