I want to share my experience at the restaurant, which was quite disappointing. We ordered eight meals, but none of us could eat the food. It was served cold and undercooked, and the spices were not properly blended. The rice was poorly prepared, the potatoes were of a cheap quality, and the chicken kebabs were also not cooked well. Additionally, the salads were drenched in cooking oil instead of olive oil, likely to cut costs. I ended up paying over $30, including tips, for food that I barely touched—only managing to take two bites. This was, without a doubt, the worst food I've ever had. If you're considering dining out, I'd recommend getting takeout from KFC or even the small food trucks...
The food was amazing, and the waitstaff really put in a great effort. The only reason I deducted one star is that they charge an additional 3.5% on your bill if you pay with a credit card. I understand that some restaurants do this, but when I went back to check, I found that this information wasn’t mentioned on the menu. It might have been on the original bill presented at the table, but who really reads anything other than the numbers? I just know that when I handed over my credit card for an $85 bill, I ended up being charged $88. I wasn’t in the mood to argue over $3, but it certainly left me feeling disappointed. It overshadowed the enjoyment of the delicious food.
Omar's offers high-quality, flavorful Mediterranean cuisine with fresh side dishes and main courses. The service is incredibly fast, and the atmosphere is welcoming. They don’t hold back on anything, using all the classic seasonings and ingredients to deliver a truly authentic Mediterranean experience in their food. If I were craving shawarma, I would certainly make a special trip to this restaurant!
Stopped here to get a late lunch. The Chicken Shawarma platter with Mediterranean rice and Hummus was just enough food. Service was great and the food was even better. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re near Grand Central and craving Mediterranean.Food: 5/5

The food was excellent, the portion sizes were generous, and the service was exceptionally friendly.
