This location gets a lot of traffic coming into town. It’s bright and open, with an Ice Cream counter on one side and a restaurant on the other side. I ordered the Mediterranean Grilled Chicken Burger, since the server said it was the best Chicken...Burger on their menu. Sides were an extra cost. The bun was nicely toasted. The chicken breast was a good size and juicy. No complaints there. It’s just that the Burger lacked flavour. It didn’t remotely taste Mediterranean, which is what I was expecting. To be honest, our family has been a holiday home in wellington, ontario for over 100 years. So the city is not new to us. we've been going to the Dairi bar for several years. last Sunday evening (Labor-Tageswochenende) we did it there. after a nice dinner at one of our last nights of summer. Im told by my wife, a County native, that this was once a great place but under the new ownership that is no longer the case. Remember folks, just because a business is in the county does not obligate you to support it. This place...simply falls flat and was not worth it. Party of 5 people. They have one table that accommodates anything over 4 people which was taken. They would not push two tables together, the waitress said the owner doesn’t allow that, when I asked why I Was told it would be a hazard. There...was plenty of room to do so. So we ended up with my elderly parents and my husband at one table and my sister and I at another. The tables were beside each other but not together. Unable to sit at the same table ruined the whole dinner experience for me. I ordered the wrong fish dinner and they didn’t even offer to fix it for me. Couldn’t eat it. I took my 3 grandsons for lunch today. We were seated promptly and after ordering our door arrived very quickly. For the most part the food was very good. However, putting a meat sauce on chicken parmagiana is not right. The coleslaw was not good....My only other issue is that the older female waitress seemed to be in a rush for us to leave. My 6 year old grandson was taking a while to eat his big hamburger but was trying. Twice she asked if he wanted to take it home...I wanted him to eat it there. It was annoying as there wasn't any need for us to leave...tables still empty and lunch rush over.
Great place at the edge of the beautiful town of Wellington. If you find yourself in this area this is a must to stop at!
