Decided to try Osaka based on reviews here and I could not have been more disappointed. Party of 2 on a Sunday night with reservations. Seated right away by a friendly kid who explained the menus (yes 4 menus) and table call buttons for service. So we hit the button for service right away, hit it again, and again, and again, watching the tables around us get food and drinks. 20 minutes after being seated, a frantic waitress shows up and finally takes our order. I'm skeptical of sashimi at any new place so I always order the Hamachi, Salmon, and Red Snapper sashimi because in my experience those 3 pieces will you give you a very good idea of what to expect from the fish menu. This jumped to the top of our Colorado sushi list number one. Apparently the sushi chef was plucked right out of the markets in Tokyo as told to us by the very charming owner who was hustling around helping bus tables and shaking hands and kissing babies. Every bite and every dish was special with exceptional flavors. Even our relatively picky toddler enjoyed it way more than most other restaurants. They even had kids bowls and silverware once they knew we had a toddler they have that extra mile Michelin vibe. I also love the buttons at each table to call for a server or call for the check to increase the overall efficiency of the dining experience! We will certainly be back.
Staff, owner and everyone in the restaurant are incredibly friendly and professional. It feels like a true family owned restaurant that employees respect. I had the Yuzu Ramen with Chashu Pork and an egg added. I worked at a ramen restaurant once so my standards are pretty high, and this bowl did not disappoint! I particularly loved the broth and tofu, but didn’t enjoy the pork. Tea after dinner was wonderful. The place was packed on a Sunday night, and the staff greets and says farewell to everyone that comes in and out. Lovely place for a meal.
This has to be one of the best Japanese restaurants that I’ve been to, and that is no exaggeration. I had a small meal of takoyaki, edamame, and some assorted nigiri and it was outstanding. The cold house sake is very good as well. Highly recommend! Update: I came back again and had the ramen and sashimi and it amazing. I would give it a Michelin star if I could. A true gem! First restaurant I've found that serves okonomiyaki! Haven't had it since Japan! I liked it though expected them to chop up the seafood meat and incorporate it into the okonomiyaki. The Osaka burger was interesting but thought the sauce was a little strong. Ginger for sushi tasted fresh and handroll was great! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
The owner stopped at our table and told us the origin story of the restaurant. He was so friendly and created a beautiful restaurant. The food was amazing and drinks were good too. Service was also excellent and we enjoyed our Valentines Day here Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
