We were advised to try this gem. Located in the centre of this car-free town beneath the tallest clock tower in Ticino, Osteria Centrale takes offer much of the square for its patrons. We sit admiring the flowers on the balconies and watch the martins flit by and even land on the stones while eat ambrosia and drink nectar. We had the tasting menu @CHF 80: every dish a delight of presentation, quality and taste. We drank a Modestly priced Merlot Barrique and were not disappointed. Two words of warning: The taxi ride from Ascona is CHF 50 each way: but well worth itThe menu only changes abut weekly so there was, sadly, not chance of a return on this trip. But we will be back. This si a gem!!
