Most everyone has been to a Panera, so I'll give my opinion on this location specifically... Pros: Great area! There is plenty of shopping and parking nearby this restaurant. Lots of seating here and plenty of windows which makes the restaurant very bright. Whether you're looking for a booth, larger table, small table for one, or an outlet, the options are vast. Service was fast, despite it being the busy lunch hour. Bakery items were pretty well stocked at 2:00 pm on a Friday. Employees address you by name and although you're given a buzzer, they still brought your food to the table for you. Plus, they came around to clear tables too. It feels weird giving a Panera a bad review, because I generally have always had great experiences at them. Here, however, that was not the case. My order was taken about three times from the cashier before it was finally put in. The one next to us had gotten through no less than three orders before ours was complete. The cashier almost forgot to charge us for the order before I pointed out that we had not paid yet. She was a bit rude and very inexperienced for such a busy time of day. The cashier is the face of the restaurant, and if they are not treating the customer right from the get-go, the customer is likely to have a bad experience. Our food came rather quickly. The food at this Panera is just as good as at other locations. The staff were friendly during my morning visit, and there wasn't much of a line at that time. However, the parking situation is a bit tricky. There’s no drive-through due to its location, and if you want to park, you can’t easily circle around to the side where the restaurant is located. You might find yourself on a one-way street leading away from the mall. I often end up parking in the lot across the street from the restaurant, which isn’t terrible, but it’s not the most convenient option either.
I think most Paneras are about the same.... This one's in a great location at the Deer Park (outdoor) mall. So you can come and eat, sit outside if you'd like, and then go walk around and do some shopping! Been here a few times, food service seems fairly consistent, etc.. This location always has a fair amount of traffic due to it's location. Which is nice. A nice amount of seating available. It's bright, most of the tables were clean, and the service was good. Overall i would recommend this location.

In the realm of Panera, the Deer Park location stands out as one of the best. The food is generally quite good (for a Panera) and they typically get the orders correct. Additionally, the staff is friendly. This restaurant consistently surpasses other nearby Panera locations, such as those in Palatine and Lake Zurich. I make a special effort to visit Panera Deer Park.
Panera has changed significantly from what it once was. The breakfast soufflés now taste like some unidentified substance. I ended up throwing mine away. They used to be my go-to breakfast option, but after just one bite, I couldn't bring myself to eat any more. I have my doubts about whether this place is as nutritionally wholesome as it advertises.
The entire staff was incredibly welcoming! I called to check what time the place closes, as I always feel bad arriving an hour before closing since I also work in the food industry. Both the cashier and the manager were so friendly, making the experience truly wonderful! The manager even treated us to some complimentary cookies during our visit!
How do you charge $9.50 for half a sandwich and a cup of soup. I come here because my wife had a hankering. But I am just being it back for her and going to make my own sandwich when I get home. Sorry, call me cheap but this is too pricy for what it is. It would be different if the service was exceptional but it is mediocre at best.

I enjoy the food, especially when looking for something different. Ingredients are always fresh and made at time of order. It can be a little expensive, but I believe you get what you pay for, and here you pay for good, unique, fresh food.
