This place has been my childhood favorite for doughnuts, but the last 2 times have been outright ridiculous..... period, never have I ever seen such a unfriendly staff, they are rude, especially at answering questions, but the last 2 times I went there, one Saturday at 12 noon and then today, Friday morning at 10a.m. and both times there were hardly any doughnuts left???? They are open until 2, not everyone gets up at 5:30a.m. and can get there. This is poor bad bad business period. The lady says we make them in the morning for the day, I was like well looks like you need to make more, no choices for nothing. We have enjoyed Paul’s bakery for years while we lived in the area. On a recent visit back to Fredericksburg, we had to have some more Paul’s. One of our favorite items used to be the Apple fritters and we had our hears set on them again. However, I was informed they no longer make them, so I had to settle for just a good mixed dozen donuts…still very good.
pauls has the most delicious donuts I've ever eaten! their donut holes are perfectly soft little bites of the sky with a popnof jelly inside. the cake donuts satisfy the sweet tooth without being super sweet. her chocolate icing is so delicious, I could swim in it. their cakes are also deletable! don’t go to foot, run around paul’s for the best bakery! from top to north in new england, where we have so many great mother and pop bakeries and donut shops, I must say paul’s bakery makes the best donuts that ive tries from anywhere in va from fredericksburg to north. I wish they glazed an old chocolate, but all the others donuts are on the spot.
