"Nothing was homemade there. Chips and salsa were from a bag and jar. We were a party of five and all of us were very disappointed. If you are looking for true Mexican food, avoid this place. It was a huge disappointment."

This was our 1st time at Penny's and had heard great things. The setting is lovely and we were able to get the last table outside on a warm evening before the crowds arrived (we had just come into Departure Bay and were heading back to Victoria). The service was friendly, but I specifically asked for no salt on the rim of my margarita and she brought it with salt. My dinner partner specifically asked for corn instead of wheat for her quesadilla and they brought wheat. My halibut tacos were average a bit dried out and nothing special for $25 for 3 small soft tacos and half the lettuce on my side salad was wilted. In addition, I asked for a side of guacamole. This restaurant came with great recommendations but we left a bit under whelmed. The setting was very nice and staff was friendly and attentive . Our son ordered halibut tacos and my wife and I had the snapper tacos, both were very good. We had also ordered nachos which were disappointing at $28. Didn't like their chose of chips, heavy thick corn tortillas, guacamole was not freshly made and other toppings were so so. The bill for 4 people with a couple drinks each came to over $200 for tacos and nachos!

Nestled into the corner of a busy marina, this floating restaurant has a lot of charm. Views are not great but certainly close to some marine vehicles. Floating on the pier walkway, you are part of the marina infrastructure and therefore you get drinks in plastic glasses. Complementary nachos were welcome and the food was pretty good with a quick and friendly service. Certainly you should consider this as one of your evening meals

Had lunch at this restaurant and the food was so delicious. We shared the special which was a grilled halibut salad and the chipotle chicken burrito made into the bowl. Portion size was very generous and the flavours were amazing and the halibut in the salad was cooked perfectly. It was busy but service was excellent! We would definitely recommend and will go back again!
