Gabriel's Gourmet Café

Ordered the Korean pulled pork with hoisin ciabatta and a chowder side. The pulled pork was really good, maybe just a tad on the dryer side but almost perfect to be honest I would be almost looking for a complaint rather than it being an issue. Would highly recommend it! The chowder was different to what I’ve had before it was very heavy on potato and I would almost say it was a potato based chowder(? but still tasted alright. It came out way too hot though and I wasn’t able to actually start eating or actually even taste it until I had eaten the whole ciabatta which was disappointing but with chowders probably better too hot rather than coming out cold I guess.

Incorrect ingredients delivered on a takeout order. I Butter Chicken with Chutney but received Chicken and tofu with Curry… Supervisor in café stated there was no curry just a label when I asked whether there was curry in it. I had to throw away the food after opening the package and lost $24.00 $19.50+18% gratuity) without replacement or compensation.

Great place with friendly staff and awesome food. Really enjoyed our breakfast and went back for supper a couple of days later. I had the coconut curry rice bowl and it was very good. Strongly recommend this cafe.

Exceptionally average food for the price. Service poor, to down right rude. They offer interesting food choices, so would try again someday when they revamp their business model and hire non-zombie like servers.

Yummy food! Will definitely be coming back here next time we are in Nanaimo! Poke bowl was really tasty, and service was great!
