With Restaurant Moon recently reinvigorating my interest in Thai food, a well-timed mailbox menu pamphlet saw me head in to Pepper Seeds in Balmain. The flyer indicated they had a few dishes that extend beyond the usual suburban Thai standards. The restaurant, set on a quiet bend in Darling Street, takes up the ground floor of a narrow two-storey terrace. It’s kept wide open to take advantage of the balmy autumnal evening, allowing diners to appreciate the star filled sky.Inside, low rafters are made into a feature with a metal shabby chic chandelier hung over the long central table. I have dined at this restaurant many times and have never had a bad meal. Last night, I went with a group of six and ordered the duck salad with a nice spicy kick and the curry. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing. The staff is friendly, and it's clear that the restaurant is becoming more popular as it was very busy when we left.
One of the best Thai restaurants that I have been to in Sydney because they have amazing food with a cozy ambience. The menu shows much creativity in authentic dishes. They put it some Western twist in the presentation but the Thai flavours are still there. Would definitely come back again.
So glad I found this little gem in Balmain. A modern funky fitout to accompany the modern funky food. I love betel leaves, they are my Thai tacos. Massaman curry is delicious and the roti that comes with it is soft and flakey. Definitely worth a visit, date night or just a mid week dinner.

The cozy atmosphere and welcoming decor at this Thai restaurant on Darling Street create a special dining experience. Despite the high-quality menu, the prices are reasonable. The excellent service has left a lasting impression, and I will definitely return to sample more dishes.
Delicious food, friendly service and nice atmosphere. We were a group of about 12 and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It's a small narrow restaurant and I was expecting it to be noisy but it wasn't as I think the decor absorbed the sound.
I've always had a enjoyable experience dining here. Service is ok, and the food is quite good. The green curry is my pick from the menu. Can usually get a table without a booking without too long of a wait.
We discovered this Thai restaurant one evening in Balmain and we are so glad we did! The food was full of flavor and very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back to sample more of their dishes.

Affordable and delicious Thai food. Duck Pad See Ew and Duck Mandarin were amazing! Service was friendly. Great atmosphere, lovely setting.
