Peyrassol Cafe At Southport

On Saturday, October 28th Peyrassol served its last dinner at Southport. As I noted in my earlier review Peyrassol Cafe was left with no choice as its current landlords offered unacceptable terms and conditions for their lease renewal. They were unable to negotiate as the landlord ghosted them the last three months. It was sad as Peyrassol was a true gem of a restaurant. I'll admit I shed a few tears at this last meal. I opted for the steak cooked an amazing medium rare and their delicious mashed potatoes. I had their pavlova for dessert a lovely scrumptious nibble of confectionary delight. Really wonderful restaurant nestled next to the Hyatt. Excellent food, portions were just right. Good service friendly and attentive. We had dinner at Peyrassol last night. Everything about it was perfect. The ambience is charming. The tables are well spaced so you don't feel crowded or like you have to listen to other diners' conversation. The service was consistently attentive, but not overbearing . And every bite of everything we ate was absolutely delicious. I am sorry, though, that they are no longer open for lunch, as my sister and I used to enjoy eating there. Peyrassol is closing. Perfect beyond words, and the very best of places. Superb cuisine, a wonderful ambiance, and extraordinary service. If I had known it was closing we would have had one last visit for the memories. I hope they will find themselves a new home.

Appetizers didn’t hit, not a flavorful soup, very light, but the lamb rack was perfect. Duck was pretty good. Dessert was rich and creamy
