Philippe Bamas - Restaurant Sonne

My girlfriends and I had a lovely dinner here a couple days before Christmas! We decided to have the Chef 's menu (Menu Atelier), with the wine set, and it was an excellent decision! Each course got better and we were left pleasantly full at the...end! Because of my shellfish allergy, I was treated to Le Bolet from the à la carte menu, and I sincerely recommend it! It was one of my favourites from the meal, though the veal was also wonderful. The atmosphere was tastefully festive and intimate; our server was attentive and friendly; and though the price of the meal was high (this *is* Switzerland), I would say it was worthwhile. Everything was really nice and I will certainly be back again!

The menu is super complete: everyone will find something to eat: from vegetarians to heavy meat eaters. The lamb ribs with homemade chips are AMAZING!!!! Especially Monica's service is the best in Basel. No one has such a great customer focus as she does. Amazing in all senses!!

we were here several times and the service was always spontaneous and cordial. The food flavor is good, but my spaghetti could have better texture. Maybe it was something with the brand of him.... sometimes the taste varies that an area for...improving

We had Pizza Diner at Sun after a previous visit when we had a good Pasta Diner. Pizza Diner was disappointing. Pizza was dry, very few tomato sauce and almost no toping. First and last pizza dinner experience for us in the restaurant.

Restaurant Sonne is definitely one of the best restaurants in our neighborhood. The food is very tasty and very creatively served. It should be awarded a Michelin Star or two!
