Pho Edmonds is located in a nondescript yet busy mini mall in Burnaby. While there aren’t a lot of tables in the restaurant, there’s plenty of room as the tables are spread apart. On my first visit, I opted for the Pho Nam Gan Sach ($9.25 for large) – beef brisket, tendon, and tripe in a rice noodle soup. The beef brisket is thinly cut and tender while the broth has a light and clean taste. There really wasn’t much tendon that I could find in the bowl though.I came back for a revisit a couple of days later and opted for the BBQ Beef Ribs, Grilled Minced Pork, and Lemongrass Chicken on Rice ($11 + extra for the fried egg). If there’s anything that I’ve learned in life, it’s to always add a fried egg to your rice dish. The minced pork patty was a bit on the dry and hard side while the grilled beef ribs were pleasant enough. However, it was the grilled chicken that was the star of this dish.Looking to try a few other dishes, I came back the following week to try their Bun Bo Hue ($9.75) – spicy beef and pork with thick vermicelli noodles. The rounded noodles were swimming in a spicy broth along with the meat balls and meat slices. Lots of flavour here and perfect for both hot and cold days alike. Finally, I tried their Deep-Fried Spring Rolls (3 for $5) and Banh Mi Ga ($4.75). The crispy spring rolls were made fresh to order and were piping hot when they arrived. While I generally prefer spring rolls made with rice paper wrappers, these were pretty good. The banh mi sandwich was filled with grilled chicken and pickled veggies on a crusty bun. You know that feeling when you first bite into a banh mi sandwich? Yup… crumbs went flying everywhere! Overall, some pretty good Vietnamese food here.

Good Soup the flavour of the soup is original from the south of Viêt Nam, grill pork and beef are well seasoning
