Phyllis' Giant Burgers

Pretty good food. Stays close to it 's diner roots/inspiration without venturing too much into the unknown ... or the exciting really. I typically just go for the basic burger the first few times I eat somewhere, and here was no exception. It 'd be a lie to say I was disappointed ... I ate the whole meal and felt satisfied, but around here I feel like you need just a little more to get that fifth star experience. So the food wasn 't particularly amazing, the folks and atmosphere was certainly nice, but nothing outstanding, the value for the food wasn 't horrible, but if start ordering anything more than basic food and tack on a milkshake or two, you could be leaving a diner over $30. I ordered the basic burger and was disappointed to find that the garlic used on it was from a jar, not freshly made. The portion size seemed small, with only two lettuce leaves and no onions. The bread was good, but the service was lacking as the waitress preferred to be on her phone behind the counter rather than coming to my table to check if I needed anything else.

My wife and I recently stopped here for lunch. I had a huge burger with Cheddar and Pommes. She had the vegetable burger. We both liked our burgers. The Pommes were good too. The only complaint my wife had was with her bungalow. She thought it was a little big for the burger, but it tastes good. I thought my burger and my bungalow were good.

This restaurant on Hwy 12 has an incredible location with a quiet, old-school vibe. The burgers are delicious, the shakes are fantastic, and the curly fries are the best!
